I am signing because I think its really great idea. I myself love playing basketball so that would be perfect to have because I was actually looking somewhere to play it but was very sad because there is none here. I am from croatia and there we have loads of basketball courts, also for football, volleyball, handball etc.

There are absolutely no good facilities nor public ammenties in a hugely populated town. Naas County Council neglect to develop public amenities despite the high amounts of property tax etc that they collect, it does not seem to be re-invested back into the town. Free public sports areas would be a brilliant addition for all ages in the town and could give older kids / teenagers more to do in the area and therefore reduce this opportunity to blame them on anti social behaviour.

I totally agree with Dermot. Basketball is a great sport for both boys & girls & for a town the size of Naas there should be an outdoor court for the young people of Naas to play on.

My son plays basketball in a club in naas and there are no facilities to train in naas for his club unless we rent out the local schools only when they are available

I agree that a town as big as Naas could really benefit from a public basketball court. Monread Park is a good location. There is a playground for younger kids, but teens who are not interested GAA and Football are not well catered for. Even a half court with one of those tough vandal proof rings would be good enough.
