It’s disgraceful how little Helsinki cares about its people.

Eihän siinä ole kysymystäkään miksi suvilahden parkki tulisi säästää..

We need public spaces that are not only for spending money in this capitalistic society! Public spaces are needed by everyone and the cultural significance isn’t measured solely with _money_!

Kaikille avoin, kaupunkilaisilta kaupunkilaisille suunnattu tila on elävän kaupungin kannalta välttämätöntä

Niin monta hyvää syytä, mutta päällimmäisenä on kulttuurin, ja eritoten skeittikulttuurin aseman ylläpitäminen suomalaisen kulttuurin ja maailmanlaajuisen tunnettavuuden osana.

DIY skate parks allow for a very important outlet within that community. It allows for a different type of connection within their friendships and the space itself. It allows them to be hands on in the creation process and most importantly!!!
It makes use of empty spaces that no one would care about other wise.
Two thumbs up!!!

Suvilahti changed my life. I ended up moving to Finland, getting married and turning professional skateboarder because of the community Suvilahti had.

I think its a beautiful thing that the place matters for so many people and works as a place were people can make friends and enjoy life, in a good way.

Everything is possible, and I think its possible to build the what ever choppingcenter around the skateing area, or then just somewere else.

Im sure that they who decide to demolition the park, havent understand how much the park does to peoples healt. Insted they just think about money.

A very important place now, but even more important in the future. A place fore everyone!

This is one of the best things in the Finlan which connects people around the world! Me i don't skateboarding, but i love the atmosphere and what people have done with their hands is incredible!

As a community, we need to save such authentic subculture sites and nurture alternative cultures in their many forms. The Suvilahti skatepark is an iconic place, and with its destruction, Helsinki will lose intellectual capital.

Suvilahti is a landmark and should be protected at all costs. It’s a huge added value to any community where people of all ages and backgrounds can watch and participate in an extremely unique community, space and structure. Destroying this space would be a travesty, and a waste of a space that is and will be special and important to both locals and tourists forever!

Suvilahti diy, is one of the few this good and big d.i.y-skateparks in the WHOLE WORLD, it was built by skaters, and their own money! Suvilahti diy, isnt just skatepark, its a hanging space, for everyone! And the Helsinki City has even used photos of it for marketing.

Sylettää, kun kaikki menee aina raha edellä ja nuorison itsetekemät harrastepaikat lanataan luiskaan. Luulis Mikko Leppilammen tietävän alueen tärkeys, eikös hän ole itsekkin skeittaillut joskus…

Im a Finnish skateboarder that cant possibly think a good reason why the city wants to destroy a cultural diamond. Like Heili Sirviö's (Finnish olympic skater) father said that they moved to Austrailia because Finland doesent offer enough possibilities to progress in professional skateboarding and that the government doesent care enough even though Finnish skateboarders have alot of potential to become world class. Now they are taking our last possibilities away from us too. If you want someone to represent us in skateboarding in the next olympics and other contests maybe you should reconsider the situations. This the exact same as demolishing a running track or a place where any other sports are played plus taking importnant finnish skate and street culture straight into the trash bin.

Tällainen kulttuurillisesti tärkeä ja ainutlaatuinen kohde on ehdottomasti säilytettävä.
Muualla euroopassa tällainen urbaani kehitys saisi arvostusta eikä koetettaisi jyrätä matalaksi

Greetings from Charlottesville, Virginia. Usa.

Please listen to your community and save Suvihilati DIY Skatepark in Helsinki!! It makes me want to go there!!
As a skateboard instructor and skatepark maintenance worker at our local concrete park, I know the transformative power of skateboarding and the positive community creates. Parents and teachers are constantly showing their support and praise for a public and friendly skatepark environment for the children of all ages. Skateboarding saves.
SAVE SUVIHILATI DIY!!! LONG LIVE SKATEBOARDING!
