Join our alumni group to encourage free speech at GCC
2023-01-31 13:17:54Free speech is an undeniable pillar of a free society. Those of us who signed this petition in the 2022 controversy come from a variety of backgrounds and political leanings, but are united in our belief that unimpeded healthy conversations are crucial to the development of education. We are also united in our love for Grove City College and the unique role it has played in higher education.
In light of that, a group of alumni have formed the Grove City College Alumni for Freedom. Our desire is to provide opportunities for students to receive education about the fundamental role of free speech in a republic. We wish to work collaboratively with GCC to ensure that “Freedom’s College” remains a place where faculty can encourage their students to explore complex ideas without fear that public cancellation will result in termination of their employment. Ultimately, these goals are meant to bolster the already dynamic Christian community that leadership has faithfully stewarded at GCC.

I'm so grateful for your partnership so far and look forward to continuing to work with you to help our beloved alma mater.
Onward and Upward!

May 19 update
2022-05-19 23:48:18Unfortunately, the full Board adopted the committee report and its recommendations. It was certainly discouraging. In response, I have created an apology to Dr. Tisby and the others maligned in the report. If you would like to read my apology, you can find it here and can sign on if you agree.
