The Luberon Natural Regional Park, created in 1977, is recognised by many as being
a outstanding area because of the quality of its landscape, its natural surroundings and for its historic buildings.
Useful information, including the Parks’ Charter, are available on http://www.parcduluberon.fr
Over the last few years, Luberon residents have suffered significantly from disturbances caused by civil and military aircraft flying above the region: this damage is directly linked to the noise and aviation fuel pollution which penetrate all zones that are supposed to be « protected ».
These disturbances upset the local population, who have chosen to live and work in a protected rural zone, and cause tourists who can suffer during the frequent flyover periods, to flee the area. (This has a knock-on effect on tourism activity and inevitably unemployment, (already one of the highest in France, while also disturbing the fauna and flora throughout the Park.
The Park Syndicate, the Vaucluse Prefecture, the Apt under-Prefecture and several local Mayors have endorsed the Park’s Charter.
- TO HELP us protect theLuberon Park and promote the goals that are contained in its Charter,
- TO « GIVE WEIGHT » to the actions undertaken by the administration, on your behalf
