CIE RESTRUCTURING

We, the undersigned students, would like to bring to your kind attention a matter of concern regarding the current evaluation process for CIE (Continuous Internal Evaluation) marks in CSE-C SEM 5 subject AMP . As per the guidelines, CIE marks are to be awarded based on two assignments, one quiz, and attendance. However, the actual evaluation currently consists of two difficult tests, coupled with stringent marking, which has created undue pressure on students and is making it challenging for all to pass.

While we understand the importance of academic rigor, the current system does not align with the original structure communicated to us. Many of us are struggling to cope with the demands of the difficult tests and tough grading system, which does not accurately reflect our efforts, understanding, or performance over the course of the semester as only 5 students of the entire batch have scored over 10 out of 20 whereas majority of students have been given 0 marks out of 20 in the CIE component 

Therefore, we kindly request the following:

1. Adherence to the original CIE structure: Evaluating students based on two assignments, one quiz, and attendance as was initially specified.

2. Balanced Difficulty Level: If tests are to be included, we request that their difficulty level be reasonable and in line with the curriculum taught, allowing students to demonstrate their learning effectively.

3. Transparent and Fair Evaluation: We also request that the evaluation criteria be made clear, with a transparent process for assessing students’ performance.

We believe these changes will foster a fairer academic environment, allowing students to perform to their potential without the added stress of an unnecessarily difficult evaluation process. We are confident that this restructuring will not only improve students' results but also promote a more positive and productive learning atmosphere.
