Why do animals always have to pay for people's ignorance?
What they are doing to this family is absolutely disgusting!
The irony is that they are bringing pain to the very person they claim they are protecting! Do the right thing and give this family their family member back!

This is an ABSOLUTE Disgrace. Leave innocent animals ALONE. People that are out there hurting others are the ones that need to be put down, NOT some innocent animal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because a person that has no idea how an animal's demeanor is has no right making a life and death decision on this. I say bring the daughter in and let them see how the dog is with her.

Because it is outrageous that you want to take a calm and loving dog away from his family. Yes family dogs are family and not just something you get and throw away after a few months. No matter what breed he is until he has done anything wrong there is no reasoning behind the courts actions. Whats that saying "innocent until proven guilty"

I understand how some people are fearful of this breed and in general those people don't like dogs period! I plead with the Judge to let this dog live. Put him under restrictions if it is necessary but, please, don't take his live away, he is loved by his family from the time is was just a little puppy!

Because Teddy is a loving member of this family. Also, I do not approve of the law, but the law is the law. But they don't even know that he is a Pit Bull anyway. I agree with others that he definitely has Lab in him and maybe boxer. But anyway, the family believes him to be American Bull Dog. So this death sentence is ludicrous! Also, as others have said, if it's only because of the young child, then let the family re-home him to a friend or family. But, bottom line, he should not be taken from this family. It is very obvious that he is a loving family member. Also, his owner is responsible, so would never leave a child alone with any breed of dog. I totally support returning Teddy to his loving home. He is probably scared to death locked up in a police kennel and most likely may not act like his usual self. Then again, sometimes the worst can happen to these sweet creatures and they will kiss and snuggle even when having been mistreated. Please free Teddy!

Seriously, you are removing an obviously very friendly dog from his beloved family that passed the aggression test. Teddy needs to be returned to his family ASAP, very certain that he is confused and very afraid of what is happening to him. SHAME on you, for treating God's creature like this.

This breed has been made dangerous by owners who make them that way. No dog unless trained to be bad is bad.Trained and socialized with other dogs, people, and children do not show these traits. To destroy this animal who has never bitten anyone is not right. Should we cut off a human's hand because he has stolen?

This is sad!! His family misses him and all because he MAYBE a dangerous breed who has never showed aggression. Bring that poor puppy back home to his owners where he belongs!!

This is ridiculous.  How is it even legal that they can take this dog away?    I hope the magistrate comes to his senses.

Dogs should not be destroyed because of their breed. Dogs that treat with love and care are usually good dogs. Each case should be evaluated on the individual dog. Get out of the courtroom and see how the dogs are in their home environment.

BSL is so wrong and should be stopped. No one should have their dog just taken and await an outcome. You are taking a family member.

Teddy has been a loving pet to the entire family and he has never shown any aggression toward anyone.

This law has to stop. They're killing dogs at will. Families left distraught, children left heartbroken. Wondering why their loving family pet, who has done absolutely nothing wrong, is just brutely snatched from them only to be murdered. As I said for no reason other than the way they look. It's so so unfair !!!!

We once had a pit bull dog. She was the sweetest and best natured dog. At one time we had white German Shepherds. One of them attacked our 9 year old daughter while I was standing beside her. Needless to say we no longer have the shepherds. This proves to me that the breed is not the culprit of dog attacks.

Because that dog is part of a family and has been conditioned into his role in the family. He is not any danger to his child human and loves her, if anything he is her protector not a threat.
Lack of knowledge is what causes the fear about dogs of any breed. He doesn't even look like a pit.

Every day I see animals mistreated, abused and neglected in the most horrible ways. Even when caught, their abusers are hardly punished. Why doesn't law enforcement go after them and leave families and their loved pets alone .Prayers for this little girl and her dog and family.

I am troubled that we are "profiling" pets the same way we have "profiled" people. I am saddened that this poor boy may lose his life just because of how he looks. PLEASE SAVE THIS DOG!

As a dog owner, how could I not sign this petition? Our dogs are our family just the same as our kids. Those of us who love our animals would do ANYTHING to get them back in a similar situation. That dogs heart is breaking just as much as the family's is because he has been pulled out of the only loving home he has ever known just because of how he looks! What kind of ridiculous reason is this? If there is a law against pit bulls, then have him tested and give the owner the choice to move if he turns out to be a pit. I personally have a pit mix that I got from a shelter that I thought was an american bulldog. But this dog is the sweetest, most loving dog I've ever had. There is absolutely no mean in her. And to discriminate against the dog soley on the way he looks is over the top. There has to be a way to resolve this without putting the dog to sleep. It's a life that's loved. A lot of faith will be destroyed in your justice system should this dog be put down. And a family's heart and a dog's heart will be broken. Let Teddy go home!!

This is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Even IF he is part pit bull, know that pit bulls have historically been baby-sitters for young children (years ago). He should be judged by what he is now anyway, NOT his genetics. That family's dog was STOLEN by the state!
