Суд над Бхагавад-гитой / Attempt to ban Bhagavad-gita

We have seen how an authoritarian system had victimised many Russian Hare Krishna devotees in the past, simply because their ancient beliefs did not conform to communist ideals.

This time around, there is an attempt to equate a divinely inspired ancient scripture called Bhagavad-Gita As It Is, with human inspired books that helped pit humanity against itself through violence, intimidation and war.

Though there may be the setting of a battlefield in which Bhagavad-Gita was spoken, it represents our own internal battles we each confront daily, and how to peacefully overcome enemies such as lust, anger and greed.

This internal process of developing true human characteristics in love for God and His creation, promoting peace, righteousness and love, is being subjected to the same biased suspicions simply because it appears to differ from established traditional beliefs.

The teachings of Bhagavaad-Gita As It Is helps to develop ideal human characteristics with genuine spiritual direction, and is something shared by all God-given inspiration. As such, the Hare Krishna devotees are a beneficial asset for Russia.

Rather than see them as a threat, allow them to show how the teachings of Bhagavad-Gita really can uplift and transform the people of Russia for the greater good.

If Bhagavad-Gita is central to the lives of perhaps a billion Hindus worldwide, then think of the long and prosperous relationship India has with Russia. Then how can the Hare Krishna devotees, and their inspiration, the Bhagavad-Gita, be harmful for Russia?

Better to nominate unbiased minds to apply judgement on an ancient scripture as Bhagavad-Gita. Let the merits of its teachings be subject to open analysis in court.

Without undue pressure from traditional quarters intent upon alienating a friendly guide for Mankind, the Russian authorities should heed the message of friendship originating from India. The Hare Krishna devotees are your best friends.
