The sacred text of any religion must be revered and treasured. To form a legal or political judgement on any such text will create a precedent for the same to be applied to other texts. Should text like the Torah [old testament] or Kabbalah be scrutinized in such a manner will challenge the religious belief of one of the most influential religions on earth. To ban such text such as the Bhagavad Gita would be the cause of more social unrest or divisiveness than the claimed inference of the text itself.

It is also important to note that analysis of any text without a thorough understanding of its meaning in relation to the text as a whole may lead to misleading speculative interpretations.

To begin to Censor any historic religious text especially one such as the Bhagavad Gits is certainly an illogical proposition. Especially in light of the historic reference where historically India has been formed under such text and has never made war on any country for the sake of religious belief or to increase its land mass and resource base which proves that the religious text of this ancient country categorically does not lead to aggression or religious intolerance.

Please reconsider the implications of censoring such a valuable scared text and the divisiveness and precedent that doing so would cause for the world in which we live.

Yours in the service of Lord Sri Krsna.
