#28 Foolish decision

I "might" have voted for the August 15 calendar had they not trashed the winter break by releasing students and teachers two days before Christmas. Not everyone celebrates Christmas, but the majority of those who do will have their plans smashed by that move. Two of the calendars had that woeful option included. With the only difference between #2 and #3 being a two-day later start date and a two-day less Thanksgiving break, it seemed clear that the board was poised to make a vote in favor of one of them. Sadly, they gave us the option to voice our opinion with a survey -- and yet again, in spite of the great majority being in favor of calendar #1, they decided they knew better. Perhaps we can get enough signatures on this to make them rethink their decision -- and if not, enough signatures on one or two of the board members to get a recall vote.

Also keep this in mind. If it were not for finals, highschoolers would most likely skip the week before the break. But most elemetary and middle schoolers will probably do just that to visit elderly relatives (I.e. Grandma).
