Local Postal Services
An Post has moved its sorting offices from Phibsborough Post Office, to Bannow Road. There has been no consultation with any residents' association on this issue, nor with our representatives as far as we know.
Many of our local people, including the elderly, those with children and our disabled residents, wonder how they are to get to the new sorting office to collect registered letters or parcels, as there is no public transport to the industrial estate on which it is located and only a very few of our people have access to a car.
Phibsborough sorting office was accessible by public transport and was walkable for many Dublin 7 residents, as it was more or less towards the centre of Dublin 7.
The siting of this new sorting office makes no sense whatsoever for the public and will result in residents being unable to collect mail.
We would like a response from our representatives on this and a discussion with An Post about returning the sorting office to a place where it is accessible.
If you would like to register your petition to re-instate the sorting office in Phibsborough.
It has come to our attention that our local postman Fran Gorman has been moved to Stoneybatter.
If you would like to petition for his return, please register your interest here also
