We, the undersigned parents, students and concerned members of the school community, come together to voice our concerns about the recent unreasonable changes implemented by the new principal. Our primary consideration is always the well-being and future of our children and their education at this school.
We call for immediate removal of the new principal at no negotiation ground and advocate for open communication between the school administration and parents.
We are to ensure our children receive the best education in a nurturing environment. The new principal have disrupted the school community without proper communication or consideration for students and parents, and teachers too! We demand a more inclusive and considerate approach from our school administration.
Our Key Concerns:
Students Are Our Primary Focus: Every new policy should prioritize the students' interests and educational needs.
Need for Open Communication: We are not advocating for parent control over school decisions but for a respectful partnership that prioritizes our children’s best interests.The school must maintain transparent and consistent communication with parents regarding any significant changes. Unilateral decision-making without parental input is unacceptable.
Our Stand:
No Personal Bias or Racial Motivations: Our concerns are solely for the betterment of our children’s education and future. We have no personal agenda against the principal, nor do we harbor any racial biases.
1) Immediate Removal of the New Principal
Possible Inappropriate Behavior of New Principal:
Was the New Principal attempting to pull a student's collar simply because she was not greeted in the morning?
If it is the case, she has exhibited inappropriate conduct towards a student, which undermines the values of respect and dignity that our educational institution stands for. This act of aggression is not only unacceptable but also constitutes a violation of the basic rights of students to be treated with kindness and respect.
If it is the case, the principal's approach to leadership is deeply flawed. Instead of fostering a nurturing and supportive environment, she possibily adopted an authoritarian demeanor, demanding that students greet her voluntarily in the morning and expressing anger towards those who do not comply. Such behavior is not befitting of a school leader and fails to exemplify the values of compassion and understanding that are essential in guiding and shaping the minds of our youth.
By sharing this unpleasant experience, do you think the brave student may risks being singled out by the school for stepping forward? We, as parents fully support, stand with our students to protect his rights and safety, and ensure now or in future, not being penalized or treated unfairly by the school management.
We urge the school administration to take immediate action to address the conduct of the new principal. It is imperative that steps are taken to ensure the well-being and safety of all students, as well as to uphold the principles of fairness and equality within our school community.
New Principal's conduct: The new principal arrived unnoticed by students, who were unaware of her identity. Angered by this lack of recognition, she summoned students to her office on her first day of work. Despite the unfamiliarity of her presence, instead of introducing herself and fostering a welcoming atmosphere, the new principal reprimanded students for their lack of acknowledgment.
This heavy-handed approach not only startled the student but also failed to establish a positive rapport between students and administration. Such actions undermine the principles of effective leadership and inclusivity, warranting a reassessment of her suitability for this important role.
Decline in School Morale: Unhappy students are considering leaving the school with dismay due to the new principal's management style, which is perceived as authoritarian and outdated, it is anticipated that more students will leave the school due to this reason. We do not welcome an old-fashioned approach in the private school setting. The school has always been managed in a way that fostered a positive and engaging learning environment, a fun and exciting place for students, thanks to the former principal as well as many dedicated and caring teachers who consistently go the extra mile in their duties. It was a place where most students looked forward to going every day—until the arrival of the new principal, has ruined everything. This is alarming and indicative of deeper issues within the school's leadership.
Balanced and Sensible Leadership: We are not demanding that schools seek parental approval for every decision, but basic communication and consideration are essential. The principal's lack of engagement and unilateral decision-making approach are detrimental to the school environment.
Focus on Constructive Initiatives: The principal should focus on initiatives that add value to the education system, fostering an environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. We refuse to tolerate behavior that is detrimental to the welfare of our students. We call upon the school administration to conduct a thorough investigation into the actions of the new principal.
Call to Action: Remove the New Principal immediately. Our students deserve a leader who embodies the values of integrity, compassion, and respect, and it is incumbent upon the school administration to uphold these standards without compromise.
2) Well-Being of Our Students and Effective Communication from School Administration
Issues with the New Principal's Policies:
Rescheduling of School Activities: All school activities, such as Sports Day and Parent-Teacher Conferences, have been moved from Saturdays to Fridays. Open Day remains on Saturdays, favoring potential new parents over existing ones. This change disregards the schedules and commitments of working parents whose children already attend the school.
PE Attire Policy: Students are no longer allowed to wear PE attire directly from home, even on days with PE lessons. The new principal insists on students changing into PE attire only at school, adding an unnecessary burden for students to bring extra clothes under the guise of maintaining discipline. A more flexible dress code would be practical and still uphold discipline.
Possible Elimination of Sports Subsidies: The new principal has proposed to stop all sports subsidies and students' participation for representing the school in all MSSD competitions. Regardless of whether a decision has been made, this matter should never have been proposed in the first place, as it is not in the best interest of the students.
This policy undermines the value of sports in fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle, which is crucial for academic success. These students bring honor to the school regardless of their results, yet the new principal appears unsupportive of their participation in sports, favoring a sole focus on academics.
While academics are important, a balance is essential. Students must maintain a healthy body to excel in their schoolwork. The school proudly advertises a holistic approach to learning, focusing on all aspects of an individual’s development rather than just academic achievements. However, recent actions contradict this claim.
Possible Grading for Secondary Level: We opposed to the practice of grading students solely based on their scores, we express our profound disappointment on possible changes to be made by the principal regarding the division of secondary classes according to grades. Regardless of whether a decision has been made, this matter should never have been proposed in the first place, as it is not in the best interest of the students.
Prior to our enrolment in this institution, the promotional materials explicitly stated that the school would not segregate students based on their academic performance. This assurance was vital as it promised an environment where students would not face discrimination based on their grades. However, the recent announcement from the new principal contradicts this promise.
Dividing classes according to grades fosters a culture of discrimination and undermines the inclusive ethos that our school should embody. It not only fails to recognize the diverse strengths and abilities of students but also perpetuates harmful stereotypes and prejudices. We uphold the principles of equality and fairness in education.
We believe that every student deserves an equal opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of their academic performance. Therefore, we call for the immediate cessation of this discriminatory practice and the implementation of policies that promote inclusivity and diversity within our school. The recent decisions made by the new principal exhibit a lack of foresight and understanding of our school's culture and values.
The unilateral implementation of outdated policies reflects a disconnect from the needs and aspirations of both students and faculty. It's imperative that the administration reconsider their approach and engage in constructive dialogue to foster a more inclusive and progressive learning environment.

Reevaluate and Adjust Policies: The School should reconsider and modify the policies to better suit the needs of students and parents. Engage in open dialogue with the parent community to ensure that changes are made transparently and inclusively.
