No Kitesurfing in more than 6-7bft is BULLSHIT

Media Release announced today that the Belgian government decided to RESTRICT rules for kitesurfing.  
Some of the rules are more stupid than others and an example of the mentioned points is that
KITESURFING IS NOW FORBIDDEN OVER 7BFT.

Many kitesurfing associations, internationally, proved already great results with good kiteboarding structures.  
THIS RULE, however, is NOT the way forward !


1. Most accidents happen while kiting on the beach, in LESS than 6bft,
2. More restrictions on -already overcrowded- kite locations, will make these areas MORE OVERCROWDED and result in a HIGHER risk for accidents!
3. Kitesurfing is a World Wide growing water sport which stands for FREEDOM and is PERFECTLY and SAFELY possible OVER 6bft!


DON'T KILL OUR BEAUTIFUL SPORT, BELGIUM!!

 

Belgium - still an exception with this rule - might be the beginning of international restrictions AGAINST KITESURFING.
