Πρόθεση για ανέγερση νέου καθεδρικού ναού στην εντός των τειχών Λευκωσία
Στην περιοχή της Παλιάς Λευκωσίας υπάρχουν αρκετοί ναοί οι οποίοι καλύπτουν με το παραπάνω τις ανάγκες των κατοίκων της ευρύτερης περιοχής. Οι κάτοικοι τις περιοχής όχι μόνον δεν εξέφρασαν την ανάγκη για το κτίσιμο ενός επιπλέον ναού, αλλά αντιθέτως εχουν εκφρασει την ασυμφωνία τους για το εν λόγω κτίσμα. Η περιοχή, δεν χρειάζεται άλλους ναούς. Η περιοχή χρειάζεται κοινόχρηστους χώρους, πάρκα, ποδηλατόδρομους, βιβλιοθήκες, γήπεδα. Χώρους που θα συμβάλλουν στην αναζωογόνηση της περιοχής και στην ευημερία των περιοίκων.
Η ηγεσία της εκκλησίας όχι μόνον αγνοεί τις παραπάνω ανάγκες των πολιτών της, αλλά και νόμους που απαγορεύουν ρητά την ανέγερση κτιριού αυτού του μεγέθους. Η επιλεκτική επιβολή εξουσίας δεν αρμόζει το χαρακτήρα μιας πολιτείας που αποκαλείται δημοκρατική ενώ η αλόγιστη σπατάλη εκατομμυρίων από μέρους της ηγεσίας της Εκκλησίας, σε περιόδους κρίσης και με την κάλυψη της πολιτείας, προκαλεί το λαϊκό αίσθημα.
Με αυτή την επιστολή εκφράζω την απογοήτευση μου για τις τακτικές που ακολουθεί η πολιτεία στο συγκεκριμένο θέμα. Σαν πολίτης της δημοκρατίας, διαμαρτύρομαι για την παράβλεψη των νόμων και την αδιαφορία ως προς τις πραγματικές ανάγκες των πολιτών. Η ανέγερση του ναού στην περιοχή, εξυπηρετεί μόνο την ανάγκη της ηγεσίας της Εκκλησίας για επιβολή στην περιοχή.
