Petition – Combating Robberies in Graça, Anjos, Intendente, and Arroios

⚠️  How many more break-ins will it take before something is done?

We open our doors every morning, not knowing if we’ll be the next victims.

We, the undersigned, owners of cafés, restaurants, and commercial establishments in the Graça, Anjos, Intendente and Arroios areas, are tired, scared, and frustrated by the increasing crime in our community. In recent months alone, several businesses Palma, O Pif, Rude, Lusitana, Dallas, Bom Bom Bom, Má Língua, Malba Fromagerie, Ideal Café, Restaurante João, 8 Colina, MG Roupa, Malala Vintage, Restaurante Alfama among many other ones, have been victims of robberies, many of us multiple times. This relentless wave of crime not only puts our safety and that of our employees at risk, but also shakes the trust and peace of mind of our customers.

🛑 We demand action, not tomorrow, not next month, but NOW.

In light of this alarming situation, we urgently request that the responsible authorities, such as the City Hall of Lisbon, the Public Security Police, and the Parish Councils of Arroios and Penha de França, take immediate and effective measures to combat crime in our area.

🚨 We demand:

- Increased police patrolling in the region, especially during the night and early morning hours, when most robberies occur.

- Installation of security cameras in key locations to deter criminal activity.Institutional and logistical support for business owners who wish to reinforce security at their establishments such as “Gratificado” or financial help to be able to contract security companies for vigilance.

- A direct communication channel between business owners and authorities for faster and more coordinated action, forget phone calls, as they do not work. We can no longer wait.

We believe that the unity of the local business community, combined with the support of local authorities, can create a safer environment and protect our businesses, employees, and customers. We must act now to ensure the safety of our community.
