Umeå Municipality´s lawsuit against Erik Sundqvist[SaveErik]

A gaping hole straight into the heart of Umeå's IT systems.

Erik was sixteen years old when he discovered that Umeå municipality had a major security flaw In their IT system.He emailed the IT department and politicians for five months and warned about it but no one listened.
In December 2013, he showed how easy it was and got into the system without destroying or stealing any information.
The district court sentenced him to 35 hours community service for hacking, a punishment which he is now serving.
Now the municipality demands almost 60.000USD / 50.000EUR in fines. All because they had to correct the security flaws that Erik had informed them about.
