Support the Romanian Tax incentive law

I believe that Bucharest and Romania in general is now and will be in the future a very attractive place to produce feature film and television series. The unique and varied locations both modern and historical are fantastic, the production infrastructure and especially the expertise of the local crews are exceptional. A competitive tax incentive, like others found around the world, will help create a bold and diversified economic driver for local economies.

I am a television and motion picture Producer with interest and desire to work in Romania. A tax incentive law in Romania is overdue and consequently, Romania has fallen behind to its competing neighboring countries. A tax incentive law in Romania would not only boost the television and motion picture industry, but help create jobs, increase tax revenue, improve the overall economy and serve as an excellent source of positive publicity to generate greater interest in tourism and other foreign investment in Romania. This has been the result in countries and regions around the world after implementing such incentives. Without it, Romania will continue to lag behind.

...Romania era in topul preferintelor marilor si micilor producatori de film din afara. Acum suntem in coada listei pentru ca este mai ofertant sa filmezi in jurul Romaniei.Ungaria, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, etc. Toti au tax incentives si nu cred ca ies pe pierdere. Ar trebui sa vedem partea plina a paharului si anume, pe un film pot intra in economie 80 milioane Euro (de ex) din totalul de 100 cheltuite aici.

I have been shooting films in Romania for years for SyFy, Hallmark and Netflix. As much as I love working there, and in spite of the obvious cost savings and amazing production value, it's a struggle each time to convince our executive producers to film where there's no tax incentive.

It is crucial to have the Romanian authorities in charge with the film industry understand that without this tax incentive legislation, very soon Romania is not going to exist for the foreigner producers. Step by step, all the foreign productions stopped at the Romanian border in Hungary and Serbia.

I don't know any of my US producer friends that don't want to come shoot in Romania. The problem is every investor looks at us as a second rate country because we don't have the tax incentive. This law will bring us into the modern world of production!
