This section of Braselton Highway is residential with plenty of commercial businesses available within a short 1-4 mile drive. Commercial businesses would detract from the neighborhoods surrounding this new construction and worsen the traffic on Braselton Highway in this area, leading to more accidents.

There are two residential subdivisions within feet of the One entrance of the proposed retail development. Traffic congestion will be unmanageable when it is already difficult to enter HWY 124 with no traffic light. Dumpsters will smell, be unsightly and cause insects to invade our residential properties. They lied. It was supposed to be strictly medical and the entrance was to be on Braselton hwy. It's not. During rush hours we have back up trying to make a left hand turn onto Braselton, it's even worse dure school. With no traffic light, making this retail will only make our situation worse. In addition, there isn't enough parking for retail. What will the county do when people park on the side of the road? Had the entrance been on Braselton road, I may not have minded SOME retail shops, but with them putting the only entrance on Cain Circle, it will make our live hell.

Changing from O-I to C-1 is not good for the area as it abuts to several subdivisions. The traffic entrance / exit will be a mess. C-1 business will be open longer than O-I and will disrupt the family style. Ashton Wood Subdivision opposes this change. There is another parcel zoned O-I nearby that open the door to be re-zoned as well. This is not good for the neighborhoods and school in the area.

To me is reeks of an underhand conspiracy of first misleading the city planners by getting the area zoned as office space, for the land to be sold and developed. I am certain that, if the original proposal would have been to set up a retail space in residential area, the city planners would have turned it down in the interest of the residents of the area.

This intersection has already gotten bad enough with increased traffic in the area. Driving more traffic with C-1 zoning of this property will make a total nightmare in this area. The other end of Cain Circle is not conducive for a left turn to go south on 124.

Parking is already very limited for this property. Driving more customers with the expanded retail opportunities will exhaust available parking and cause overflow onto Cain Circle. That will cause even more congestion in the area.

This development violates the 1998 approval for OI..
The approval is specific for one entrance on 124, not Cain Circle. How the heck did this get approved as the county either bypassed the approval letter from 1998 or did not do a complete review of their own records. Either way the county is trying to sidestep this oversight.
With that said, does Cain Circle meet DOT design specifications for the additional loads created by heavier vehicles making deliveries to the operating center? No one from the county has addressed this issue.
