My family and I go way back with the Whitfield’s and their hearts are made of pure gold. They have been loving family friends for over 25 years. To watch this unfold has been disturbing and sad and my heart goes out to the whole Whitfield family. Justice shall prevail.

I am signing because it has been shown that there is clear favoritism against Dr. Whitfield regarding the blatant disregard of the board meeting rules and failure to enforce them as Mr. Clark broke them multiple times. On top of that, there has been zero evidence to back the statement of Dr. Whitfield teaching Critical Race Theory and seems to be false justification for the wrongdoings. My signature also comes in regards to the photo of him kissing his wife on Facebook that GCISD made him take down because it could "stir things up". I'm not calling any racism or such into question, but there is clear and objectionable bias in the way things where conducted. #DoBetter

The firing of a public education professional for the "offense" of trying to teach American history to Americans is despicable.

Tristan Lory (Dallas, 2021-09-02)

#1824

I'm sending because I care about the education my family members receive at Colleyville Heritage High School.

Robert Tolley (NYC, 2021-09-02)

This is extremely wrong on many levels.

My daughter just graduated from CHHS and Dr Whitfield was a true educator friend and mentor to all the children. What that school district needs are more Dr Whitfields, not more ignorant parents with over indulged children.

Carole Miller (Euless, 2021-09-02)

#1840

We need strong, professional leaders and GCISD shouldn’t buckle to community activists that don’t represent the public.

Tim Uebele (Colleyville, 2021-09-03)

#1841

This is wrong.. absolutely wrong…

Lana Lanning (Grapevine, 2021-09-03)

This violated said rules.

Jess Bissitt (Houston, 2021-09-03)

#1855

I find any unjust action, especially one that is based on fear and racism, must be called out and dealt with. Mr. Whitfield is a professional man with a solid reputation in the work that he’s in and deserves to be supported by the community.

Marlene Barardo (Bedford, 2021-09-03)

#1859

I grew up in GCISD. I’m ashamed and disgusted in where I grew up. Do better.

Critical Race Theory belongs in our classrooms and in our daily conversations.

Sarah Tyree (Fort Worth, 2021-09-03)

#1867

I believe Dr. Whitfield deserves to serve the students in GCISD with all the passion and energy for which he was selected originally.

Kimberly Jones (Grapevine, 2021-09-03)

#1868

Dr. Whitfield was wrongfully suspended.

Julia Koosha (Hurst, 2021-09-03)

#1871

Systemic racism STOPS HERE!!
Every single one of you know that there was nothing inappropriate about that picture the only reason he is suspended is because y’all wanted to silence the racist parents of your students and it is pathetic stand up grow a pair and reinstate the principal

Teri Masters (San antonio, 2021-09-03)

#1873

Dr. Whitfield has done nothing wrong.

S Brown (Flower Mound, 2021-09-03)

This man has done nothing wrong. Shame on the school district! This is blatant racism!

Donise Monroe (Pflugerville, 2021-09-03)

#1886

Although I do not live in the area, I believe in supporting Dr. Whitfield. He is very well qualified for the task at hand & what they have done to him is absolutely uncalled for. There is no room for hate.

Ana Jamora (Rosharon, 2021-09-03)

#1888

Dr. Whitfield is the best thing that happened to GCISD

Hope Turner (Decatur, 2021-09-03)

#1889

This is a blatantly racist act, and the school board and upper administration are behaving in a shallow, shameful manner.
Young people of color benefit greatly from the acknowledgement of,, and daily work of other persons of color in leadership positions..

Raenell Rodenmayer (Grapevine, 2021-09-03)

#1892

Dr. Whitfield is an AMAZING educator. I support him entirely.

Ashley Strange (Euless, 2021-09-03)

this is wrong

#1894

White supremacy is so 1950’s. Let’s all move on, shall we?

Tracy Mackay (Dallas, 2021-09-03)

#1899

Because a vocal minority should not have sway over a school board superintendent who was hired to do his job. It happened here in Lancaster and I hate to see it happen in other places in Texas.

Ally Godfrey (Lancaster, 2021-09-03)

#1900

This is not a fair action and a bad example to kids. I am not happy about the boards decision and initial instructions to remove family photos from his post. Leave the man alone and let him do his job.

Ayo Ekis (Fulshear, 2021-09-03)

#1904

Because this man is being treated horribly. What are we teaching our children by this move? It is not an obscene photo. It is him and his wife!!!! Ridiculous!!!

April Rogers (Keller, 2021-09-03)

#1905

Allowing these individuals to end the term of Dr. Whitfield would show the students that if your hate is loud enough then you must be right. Please stand up against this blatantly racist request to remove Dr. Whitfield and do what’s right for your students.

Nikki Jordan (Buda, 2021-09-03)

#1908

CRT is a myth, and education professionals should be able to do their job free or worry and harassment from ignorant racists.

Kimberly West (Coppell, 2021-09-03)

#1913

I support Dr. Whitfield as the Principal of GCISD. He has earned his position and I believe he is under attack for no legitimate reason and It is a shame in my opinion.

gregory lamb (grapevine, 2021-09-03)

#1915

Because among other things happening in Texas right now, this is outrageous. I just want to wake up back in 2021 instead of the 1900's. I'm embarrassed to be a Texan. Stop wasting time on idiotic issues like this and backwards laws and actually move forward. The parents involved in this issue should be mortified. When did the group in charge of this become the Texas Karen Club?

Sarah Durham (Plano, 2021-09-03)

#1918

Standing up to the haters.

Charles Fullhart (Grapevine, 2021-09-03)

#1919

All people are created equal and such a picture should never spark a debate nor a concern

Carletta Lucas (Mckees Rocks, 2021-09-03)

#1923

I'm of the opinion that the people that are judging him do not have firstly enough love in their hearts, and more importantly the intellectual or mental acuity to do so, based on how they have framed their argument.

Wade Ramsey (MORENO VALLEY, 2021-09-03)

#1924

TX is out of control. All they are doing is perpetuating intolerance, racism and bigotry to the next generation

Tracy Doolittle (Atlanta, 2021-09-03)

#1926

Dr. James Whitfield has been an exceptional and positive role model to my daughter

Jessica George (Texas, 2021-09-03)

#1936

This is ridiculous. He has done nothing wrong.

Sharon Peurrung (Austin, 2021-09-04)

#1938

Because those of us committed to racial equality have to stand up and push back against these racist bullies. The way this man is being treated is intolerable.

Andrew Ricks Jr (Houston, 2021-09-04)

#1941

I’m signing because Dr. Whitfield is such a great teacher and person. He really made a difference with the learning experience for me in high school.

Cheyenne Neighbors (North Richland hills, 2021-09-04)

#1942

The society of ignorance cannot prevail.

Jamal Smith (Killeen, 2021-09-04)

#1943

Most Texans are SO TIRED of racist school board members and racist parents calling the shots in our schools. Principals like Dr. Whitfield should be applauded for providing inclusive learning environments. History should include how non-whites have been treated in a white male dominated society. Racism is woven all through our history. Teaching anything else is a lie...at best it is teaching the white supremacist mythology and our students deserve better. Not that this is even the issue in Colleyville. THERE it is the racist white parents have dedicated themselves to getting rid of a beloved Black principal, and racist board members have gone along. It is disgusting. (I live in a racist community too.)

Shelley Pace (Weatherford, 2021-09-04)

#1946

This is an abuse of power. Whitfield should not have lost his job. He clearly shows to care about his student. They're just scared having a black man in power would provide students a positive black role model.

Jefri Collado (Brooklyn, 2021-09-04)

#1947

Dr Whitfield deserves better and it’s wrong to not give an explanation to get him suspended and hurt not only him but students who love him. Keep gcisd from going back to the past and being racist . Fix this problem

Genesis Morro (Euless, 2021-09-04)

#1948

I believe in doing what’s right. You have a good man there just trying to do his job and you’re punishing him for the hate that’s in your hearts.

Carolyn Mendoza (N Richland Hills, 2021-09-04)

#1950

The treatment of Dr Whitfield is disgraceful. He is a highly educated man who seems to be passionate about educating kids. Let him do that. Stop listening to uneducated parents who are mistakenly claiming he is "implementing CRT".

Kem Miller (Coldspring, 2021-09-04)

#1952

I’m signing because he was my middle school vice principal and cared so much for his students and their success. He is an incredible educator and vital to Texas’ education system, especially in a community that still perpetuates racism. We need strong leaders like him to stand up and break down those harmful and hateful stereotypes.

Rachel Maupin (North Richland Hills, 2021-09-04)

#1956

Dr Whitfield is a good man. A Christian man of courage and integrity. This is the right thing to do.

Roy Wright (Euless, 2021-09-04)

#1959

We need more leaders like this that put the best interest of public Ed first.

Karen Conway Kelley (Katy, 2021-09-04)

#1963

Dr.Whitfield is the most encouraging man I have ever met. He does not deserve this treatment from the school administration!! Completely unjust.

Dashia Richey (Denton, 2021-09-04)

#1965

Dr. Whitfield has proven repeatedly that he is an honorable educational leader and he does not deserve the attacks that some in this community continue to level against him.

Valerie Hudson (Colleyville, 2021-09-04)

#1967

Hate has no place in GCISD.

Shelly Pollock (Grapevine, 2021-09-04)

#1969

I support GCISD parents in advocating for fair treatment of district staff.

Jennifer Bellamy (Joshua, 2021-09-05)

#1971

I know what an amazing Mentor and human being Dr Whitfield is and I wld want no other Admin but him in my child’s High School if I got to pick!

Begum Chamberlain (Grapevine, 2021-09-05)

#1978

As a professional in the diversity & inclusion space, I do not stand for this decision. Individuals have freedom to share their personal lives and affection with their wives on their personal, private Facebook profile. Suspending this individual only shows one thing in my eyes: that this district stands against interracial marriage and affection. Is that really what you want to teach children in today’s world? Shame on you. Be a human. Lead by loving example.

Blair Pettit (Austin, 2021-09-05)

#1980

Because He puts all his heart work and effort for his staff and students. It’s not always that find a great principal that truly gives there all.

Lupita Melendez (Midlothian, 2021-09-05)

#1981

He is a great principal!!

Kenja McGehee (Savannah, 2021-09-05)

#1984

There is no credence to the claims he’s even promoting CRT. Angry, and ill-informed parents should not have this much power.

Jennifer Birou (Lafayette, 2021-09-05)

#1986

I'm signing for equality and justice there was no reasoning for firing him but race SHAME ON THE PARENTS!!!! that called for him to be fire because he's black

Stacy Bennett (hollywood, 2021-09-05)

#1987

As a former teacher I am appalled at the blatant racism shown in the treatment of this man.

Gloria Long (Fort Worth, 2021-09-05)

#1992

He has been profiled for his race and he obviously cares about the kids more than the parents in the district do.

Brittney Culp (Southlake, 2021-09-05)

#1998

I graduated from Grapevine High School in 1974. I can not believe what is happening in 2021 to this honorable man.

Mary Thornhill Roper (Lake Dallas, 2021-09-05)

Dr.Whitfield is both an amazing person at heart and a fantastic educator so i’d like to state that I stand with Dr.Whitfield
