I have played this course many times and it is a true gem. It is good to see golf able to harmonise with other users, ramblers, dog walkers and the general public. The clubhouse is a great facility and always welcoming to visitors. In the current climate with COVID-19 and the effect on mental health it would be a crime shame if the council did away with this wonderful treasure. Cleeve Hill is an iconic, breathtaking golf course of special historical interest. It has a unique place in sport, and should be saved for future generations to enjoy. The golf course itself also effectively ringfences land from less ecologically sustainable uses, allowing a significant number of species to thrive.
I fervently hope the course can be saved, and I’m willing to make a contribution to help save it.
Thanks

As a past member the course allowed me time to escape from the demands of being a parent with a child with multiple disabilities. Playing golf allowed my mental health time to breathe and escape from reality, it kept me sane. The members of Cleeve are truly unique in the blend of working mans club to very well off. Everyone single member I know treated me with respect and compassion yet still taking the xxxx. I can’t play at present due to ill health, but in today’s climate outdoor sport will once again flourish and for the Council not to see the real need to support this is in my view negligent and will in time impact in a very negative way within the whole community that use the club and clubhouse for their physical and emotional needs. This is the time to invest now to save later. It should also be noted that Cleeve provides affordable golf for the many and not exclusive golf for the fewNigel Lewis (Cheltenham , 2020-10-23)
