Something is needed! This could be just the way to get ahead of a looming crisis.

(Toronto, 2017-01-14)

#206

I informally adopted a teenager who lost both parents to mental illness. suffering himself he got in a lot of trouble with the law and simply didn't care at 15. the journey cost me my marriage and business to say the least. the burden was not only ours but also the justice system, police forces(which are way undertrained or ready for this issue ) and family members too. Fortunately for us, unlike many, we finally see the light 12 years on. Intervention by our Federal government to take this up is an UNDERSTATEMENT. they need to know it will cost way less if they help! To all others...Never give up! you can do it. Never give up.

(toronto, 2017-01-14)

#209

It is time to address mental health issues and help families obtain services for those who need it

(Regina, 2017-01-14)

#210

the governments put mental health on low- priority, and it only evades prevention and leads to intensification of people's mental health problems

(Regina, 2017-01-14)

#211

This is very much needed in Saskatchewan

(Regina, 2017-01-14)

#213

I have had first hand issues with the Mental Health system and it needs work. Maybe this can work

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#215

I have first hand experience with anxiety and depression issuesas including many friends and family members. It is a debilitating disease that deserves so much more attention and funding than it gets. People feel helpless and hopeless as our society doesn't recognize this as a legitimate disease. Your doctor prescribes drugs and sends you away. These are life and death situations that require immediate attention, not being told to come back and see me in a week or two. Hopefully we can make some drastic changes to help the people who have the courage to ask for it.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#216

This is the third time my daughter has needed help and the system has failed us every time!! so devastating

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-15)

#221

Our son didn't receive the care he needed, and we lost him to suicide.

(Fort Qu'appelle, 2017-01-15)

#222

This is a section of health care that has been too long neglected and side lined. Due to stigma? Likely, but if cardiology or oncology got only 7% of the federal health budget there would be a national outcry from all sources. And rightly so, but it's "mental health" the voiceless, the vulnerable and disposable of our health seeking population. Create a ministry to provide equity across the health services.

(chestermere, 2017-01-15)

#223

I suffer from bipolar disorder and have been subject to this first hand.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#224

Mental Health Disorders are a causal factor related to so many social issues. The field of mental health awareness, the removal of stigmas and myths, and the study and treatment of mental issues is critically important. Serious reform needs to happen.

(Calgary, 2017-01-15)

#227

I deal with Bipolar and BPD on a daily basis. We should have the same medical support available as those with other medical needs. I have been waiting for help from mental Health for over a year already, this could be a life or death situation for people. We don't choose this!

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

My son was failed by the mental health system in Fort Qu'Appelle and Regina and lost his life in November of 2015 some things have been fixed from what I understand but there is so much more that needs to be done his death could have been prevented but the psychiatrist and socialworker ignored him and us and the psychiatrist doesnt think he did anything wrong and puts the blame on us as his parents

#257

Mental health affects everyone.

(Indian Head, 2017-01-15)

#261

It makes me emotional to see how many of us are speaking up. No matter how old we are, or what backgrounds we come from, mental health DOES NOT discriminate. We need more resources and jobs dedicated strictly to mental health and addictions. Sign for your loved ones. Sign for yourself. Keep sharing. Thank you!

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#265

I live in Manitoba but I work also in Saskatchewan. This is something that is needed. Those with mental health issues are often overlooked.

(Roblin, 2017-01-15)

#267

It is very much needed program, in my job I deal with a lot of people who are having difficulty on day to day basis.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#268

Im an RN. I've seen a complete lack of mental health resources both in acute care and in the community. Its devastating.

(REGINA, 2017-01-15)

#270

I am signing this because right this minute I have someone I love suffering and needing help. It breaks my heart. I have both family and friends suffering from mental illness. They need a voice.

(Indian Head, 2017-01-15)

#272

Mental health services in the Kelsey Trail Health Region are horrible. We need better and more timely access to mental health services.

(Tisdale, 2017-01-15)

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#292

As a social worker in rural Saskatchewan, more focus on mental health services should be a priority in this province.

(Estevan, 2017-01-15)

#295

Struggling with anxiety and depression I am a step away from breakdown almost daily. The answer is to wait 10 days to see a family practitioner and medications.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#298

I have seen first hand the lack of resources for persons inflicted with Mental Illness. Something needs to change!!!

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-15)

#302

This is needed in Saskatchewan.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#303

Mental Heath is an important part of health care. This is a needed step toward providing better services for those who need it. I support this 100%

(La Ronge, SK, 2017-01-15)

#307

The wait times in this province are outrageous, starting from months and going up to years to see a psychiatrist, get into treatment such as DBT and access other services that are essential for those with mental illness. This delay in accessing services and sometimes total absence of services is having serious impacts, an example being the suicide crisis' in many First Nations communities in this province. There is simply not enough services and not enough funds allocated for these services, and this lack of services is having devastating results. There needs to be a change and this change can not wait.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#308

After seeing a patient in the hallway because he was 'less acute' after being off his schizophrenia medications for weeks. He was already scared for his life so we put him in the hall. That is not okay, we need more.

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-15)

#310

I'm in favor of bringing mental health treatment to the community level.

(Estevan, 2017-01-15)

#311

I work in health care and have seen how easily people who need help, can be forgotten. We are fortunate in that a psychiatrist from Weyburn visits Estevan clients, but more is needed. Both myself and a family member know firsthand how important it is to receive timely Mental Health care.

(Estevan, 2017-01-15)

#312

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#313

This is necessary

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-15)

#319

mental health gets the short end of the stick. The lives of so many people could be improved with better services.

(Beaconsfield, QC, 2017-01-15)

#320

I have been a victim of the horribly inadequate and disjointed "mental health care system" here in Saskatchewan.

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-15)

#322

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-15)

#340

Im crazy, count me in

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#342

My 10 yr old daughter and I both live with the daily struggles of mental illness. While we are able to appear to be functioning normally, we aren't. We've gotten all the help the province is willing to give (and that we can afford .. even with insurance) but most of the time it's just not enough. The province needs someone in government that can and will work for us and ensure that we have the chance to have a healthy and happy future.

(Furdale, 2017-01-15)

#343

Our province is made of if so many families that need mental health assistance. Too many slip through the cracks.

(Martensville, 2017-01-15)

#344

Every Province and Territory should have a Mental Health Minister and Ministry!! Mental Health continues to be woefully under-represented and under-funded across the country. Stigma and discrimination continue at all levels of society. A human rights framework needs to be enacted at all levels of mental health policy and program development. Canada has ratified the UN CRPD but little change on the ground has occurred for those with mental health concerns.

(Calgary, 2017-01-15)

#345

I don't want any of my friends or family to suffer.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#347

Brilliant idea!!

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#348

There is not enough support for mental illnesss in sk. Mental health institutions keep getting closed... Its difficult to find a theripist without it costing alot, little online support, and anyone who is living in a rural area its even worse. Its diffuclt to find a job where they are flexable with mental days etc....its just a big cluster*****...

(Avonlea, 2017-01-15)

#350

I have struggled with mental health since I was 7 years old. I have resurgent childhood and juvenile trauma that has affected my brain chemistries. Lack of education and resources has left me with losing friends to suicide, drug overdoses, and self destruction. For our youth and for those with economic statuses that cannot seek privatized or accessible mental health care, please create a better system.

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-15)

#356

I'm signing because we NEED this. Saskatchewan has no avenues for mental health, it doesn't matter if other places do or not, let's take a stand and take care of our people..

(Regina a, 2017-01-15)

#357

More funding and more focus are both desperately needed for better mental health care!

(Moose Jaw, 2017-01-15)

#358

This is something that the government should get on board with asap!!

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#361

I have struggled with depression and anxiety most my life and we need more resources in the province to help us get the help we need when we need it!!!

(Wynyard, 2017-01-15)

#362

I suffer and I fight depression and anxiety disorder every day and there is not a day goes by that I don't think of suicide.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#364

It's needed!

(Estevan,sk, 2017-01-15)

#365

Better mental health care is absolutely needed! This shouldn't be something that only the wealthy can access by seeking the care needed outside of our province and/or country. It should be accessible here; for everyone.

(Regina, 2017-01-15)

#371

Myself, along with my husband suffer with depression and there is dementia in my family also.

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-16)

#373

Every person should feel like there is someone available to talk to when they are struggling. Often family, friends, coworkers etc. don't understand and quite frankly can make the issues so much harder / worse.

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-16)

#375

I waited in emergency almost 24 hrs before getting admitted to the mental health ward at Regina General during my crisis 3 years ago. I would not have survived as an outpatient and I know I was lucky to get in as quickly as I did. So many others wait longer or are turned away. This needs to be addressed.

(Regina, 2017-01-16)

#377

Signing in support and memory of family, friends, and coworkers.

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-16)

#380

Mental health support in this province is next to non-existant. There needs to be change.

(Regina, 2017-01-16)

#381

This would be a great addition to the system, to help create beneficial change within it.

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-16)

#385

I have serious mental health issues and very limited resources where I live.

(Moose jaw, 2017-01-16)

#390

Affordable, appropriate and available mental health services are needed in Saskatchewan. What we have is inadequate.

(Saskatoon, 2017-01-16)

#393

I have so many family members suffering in silence. Saskatchewan needs more resources for mental health issues.

(Calgary, 2017-01-16)

#394

Mental health care and services in this province are absolutely abysmal.

(Regina, 2017-01-16)

#400

I have 31 year old identical twin sons who both have schizophrenia. One since the age of 14 and the other since the age of 19. We live in a small town with very limited resources. It's going to take moving the entire family to Winnipeg in order to get the services needed for them.

(The Pas, Manitoba, 2017-01-16)
