I enjoy taking pictures for my clients there and even when I’m not working I like to enjoy walks there it’s so big and open that you forget the time and place your at!(Laredo, 2017-10-15)

Quit spending our tax dollars foolishly, invest in the safety of our children and lower our taxes for once. Wake up Laredo(Laredo, 2017-10-15)

We need to protect and expand our greenspaces.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#211
I'm signing because there are other locations better suited for this project other than our scarce parks.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#212
I'm signing because a good friend of mine who is a veteran has his house right next to this land. He deserves his peace and quiet after being in Iraq. I know his house is his sanctuary where he can go and relax after a busy day at work. As this will probably disturb his peace being that the street his house on might be the only entrace to this museum. Hopefully city officials will change their mind and leave it as it is. Peaceful and quiet.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#213
Keep nature in mind before political gain, there are many more areas in the city to put this building.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#214
I'm signing this because I'm a Laredo native and used central park for running. Laredo has very limited locations for outdoor activities. I now live in Del Rio and and this city promotes preservation of land.(Del Rio, Tx, 2017-10-15)

Keep Laredo parks free of unnecessary construction.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#226
I want to protect this Park.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)

I think if your gonna build anything at North Central Park it should be a Rec Center for the Community. The closest rec center is at Clark. I respect the Man and Woman that served but a park for the Vets should be in downtown not at a park. Stop Construction at the park and give us something that will be used everyday and not a museum that will be used only on field trips.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#232
I will like to petition the building of the museum in the property of North Central park to be displayed in another area of laredo where there is no exisiting greenery (planted trees, flowers, etc.)(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#234
We need to protect our green spaces. We can build a museum in downtown.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#236
The Veterans Museum is an opportunity to reclaim downtown Laredo.Since the 1950s there has been movement to the suburbs, and the downtown has been left to decline. Numerous groups have spent years trying to reclaim the historic center of Laredo..Their efforts have been only partially successful, as it is extremely difficult to reverse demographic trends. Having the Veterans Museum downtown would support those organizations' efforts to put new life into what was the beginning of Laredo in the Spanish era. Building in North Central Park, sacrificing a pristine natural landscape to develoopment, is what we should not do.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#238
Even though I myself am a veteran I feel we need to keep our green lands.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#242
I'm signing because I care about the environment.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)

I've been running at this park since 2012(Laredo, 2017-10-15)

We need green spaces within our city to remain green and untouched. This area floods as it is, hello, make it worse by adding concrete ? I am all for this wonderful needed museum, butFind an other location. The base was a good idea, close to The VA center would be ideal no?
(LAREDO, 2017-10-15)

It was sad to see most of the wetland destroyed with the park and now the little that is left is going to be developed too?! That's extremely upsetting .(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#260
These natural spaces need to be protected and not developed. Build the veterans museum at Fort Macintosh or by the old base. Both suiting areas for a veterans museum.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)
#263
I love this park and feel this museum can be located in another area where it can expand instead of removing other forms of entertainment for the community.(Laredo, 2017-10-15)

Please let’s protect our green areas(Laredo, 2017-10-16)

I want green areas within the city.(Laredo, 2017-10-16)
#289
I disagree with the location due to the wild live in the area. Also from what I understand military equipment is going to be displayed, and who is going to maintain it? Some of the issue are going to be graffiti, kids climbing the trucks etc, and who is going to be sure the equipment is oil/coolant/ and other petroleum free. I agree with the Veterans museum, but not at that location. Oh and I am retired US Army, Sergeants Frist Class, and combat veteran.(Laredo, 2017-10-16)
#290
I believe City Council should protect the integrity of this beautiful green space, protecting its boundaries for families of today and far into the future. Allowing this development could lead to many more projects, deserving as they may be in any other location, that will chip away at the natural environs until the asphalt is greater than the green.(Laredo, 2017-10-16)
#294
I want to(Laredo, 2017-10-17)
#296
North central park is the only decent park we have that's not a small park where you will finish a lap in 2 minutes. North central is full of fun and it's such a beautiful place, this is obviously not the place to put a museum, there is so many other places, WHICH ARE EMPTY, where the museum can be build. not at north central(Laredo, 2017-10-17)

We love our veterans and support the creation of a Laredo Veterans Museum. But not at this site. The specific proposed site is in an ecologically sensitive area of the park that is home to wetland and woodland.Let’s work to save our park and work to help find the very best site in Laredo for their museum.
Thank you Friends of North Central Park for working to save this rare natural gem.
(Laredo, 2017-10-19)

There are so many perfect places to build a museum for example next to the public library their is alot of room there why a park?(Laredo, 2017-10-20)

What will you tell your children and grandchildren when there is No wild space left??(martinez, 2017-10-22)
#337
We need to grow as city but also intellectually and learn and respect nature and key elements that are here is crucial to be able to reach a better level of City of Laredo, Im sick of studies showing that Laredo lacks people who are intelectual and protect the environment.(Laredo, 2017-11-15)

Karla loves taking her dog Daniela for walks. Karla is my best friend so I will do this for the happiness of her dog(Laredo, 2017-11-16)
#342
Laredo needs to expand and develop more green areas, not reduce them by pouring concrete and building structures on the few designated park areas it has.(Laredo, 2017-11-16)
#345
As a veteran a park is not the appropriate setting for veteran museum.(Laredo, 2017-11-16)
#350
Laredo does need a Veteras Museum. A park is not a place for that. There are other places the museum can be located.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#351
This is just wrong! The park is for unorganized outdoor activities not more asphalt for parking or concrete for buildings. Totally out of place in the park! All for it to be built around other historical structures such that traffic flow is increase such that the veterans receive the deserved respect not hidden in one of the few City parks!(Laredo, 2017-11-17)

The most basic need of the people in our community is being ignored, with all their dialogue of power and politics. That basic need is the ability to breathe clean air. These green spaces were created to break up the urban environment. With all the trucks that cross our bridges daily, some 12,000+, how do you think these emissions are cleaned out of the air? Destruction of these spaces will have an impact on Public Health because the quality of air that we breathe will be diminished , leading to more respiratory ailments. Green spaces are vital to the future of our community. I invite people to drive on Hwy. 83, coming to Laredo in the morning, and sometimes, you will be able to see a brown cloud of haze or pollution, which is the very air that we breathe.(Laredo, Tx, 2017-11-17)
#360
As a veteran myself this is not the appropriate location for a museum. I believe that LCC is the best suitable location for a museum(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#364
I care about the environment, North Central Park is a lung to the city and should be preserved, they should construct this museum in one of the golf courses(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#367
To preserve the park’s natural environment(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#368
Industrializing any other parts of North Central’s greeenery - especially of the magnitude required from a museum - would only harm the city’s already minimal natural trails. We must preserve the habits already formed within this trail, and we must find a better solution to this problem. There must be several city-wide public meetings for this critical decision, and city officials, as well as city locals, should be responsible enough to be ready with viable solutions(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#371
We neee to perserve wildlife and not to mention as a person from Dallas this is about one of the only pretty parks and attractions here.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#372
Keep our par peaceful(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#373
Protect the North Central Park, we've already destroyed 1/3 of it by renovations for "Frisbee trail" & "Bike Trail". The City should be worry about preserving the Park against vandals...?(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#374
I go jogging at north Central Park. The land is beautiful and serene, unlike everything else in Laredo. I am signing this petition so that you consider leaving this beautiful land untouched.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#377
Nature should be preserved, we can't just keep building and building we need to have a balance of nature ...(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#379
It’s not right to interfere with nature. You can build a museum somewhere else without destroying this habitat.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#383
The park is already a beautiful place, why would you mess the landscape to make a museum of all things in that area? Why not push it closer by the new United you have all that undeveloped land right there with no park or anything just a big open eye sore. So why mess with a park if there is perfectly untouched land not even a mile down the way.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#384
The NorthCentral Park is really Beautiful and helps individuals like me come in connection with Nature.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#389
This petition is being signed because the north Central Park of Laredo is the one and only place in Laredo Texas with a natural habitat look, trees, and the feeling of wildernesss. People often go to the north Central Park to escape the surroundings of houses even if it's jeutfor a little bit. North Central Park is for children of all ages and animals of all types. Elder has well as young teenager and adults go for walks, jogs, etc. Because no other place in Laredo is large enough to do that without having cars passing by and having to stop so the car can continue driving. Like I said it's a form of escape for many it's peaceful.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#390
The park should be left alone. There are plenty animals in there that live side by side with people and building a museum would upset that. You honor the veterans by building it somewhere that would attract more people. Leave the park alone.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#393
I’m signing because I love walking through nature and I believe it’s wrong that you turn down a beautiful place to build something that can be built somewhere else.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#394
Improve the quality of Life in Laredo. Develop somewhere else!(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
#397
I'm am not against a well deserved Veterans Museum but I am against the location. North Central Park should remain as is. The park is behind my house and placing this museum in a residential neighborhood would increase traffic and noise, not to mention all the unnecessary construction. This would scare off the natural wildlife. Instead something should be done to keep up the park, maybe adding more trees where the dead burnt trees are now. As it is there are no decent outdoor activities in Laredo.(Laredo, 2017-11-17)
