I work in the golfing industry and would hate to see all the hard work of green keepers be all for nothing during covid 19

Rahiri Murray (Rotorua, 2020-04-08)

Lin Willis (Lower Hitt, 2020-04-08)

#204

I love the game of golf and want my club to be the best it can be

Mikki Mclaughlin (Taupo, 2020-04-08)

#208

This will destroy small golf clubs. This will destroy big golf clubs.

Council maintaining parks - what’s the difference between that and a golf club that safely can look after their greens

Josh Merriman (Taupo, 2020-04-08)

#210

I’m signing this petition because devonport is such a special place and I would hate to see the golf course destroyed - please help Den keep the greens as they should be! Thanks

Julie Reger (Scroggs Hill, 2020-04-08)

To bring future costs down

Mikae Rangihika (Hamilton, 2020-04-08)

#212

Golf courses require constant maintenance and provide the country with income

Byron Willis (Tauranga, 2020-04-08)

#216

I want the golf courses to be maintained. How unfair is it the Trentham Race Course can be maintained but the Golf Course next door cannot.

Rusty Brooke (Auckland, 2020-04-08)

#217

I'm a golf pro... And if the courses are not maintained my business and thousands of others are going to suffer if not closed down if the golf courses are not maintained.....and I don't see how mowing a golf course is different from all the parks and schools in town being mowed.... As I have seen this happen over the last 2 weeks.

Kris Gundersen (Whakatane, 2020-04-08)

#219

Golf is a big part of my life. Social and exercise wise

Matt Dorn (Hamilton, 2020-04-08)

I really want to play golf ASAP!

Justin Liddle (Auckland, 2020-04-08)

#233

I’m signing because it is a logical approach.

John Rautenbach (Taumarunui, 2020-04-08)

#235

it seems strange that council's can still continue to mow the lawns at parks yet, golf course or bowls staff that work alone cannot keep the greens in good order

Jenny hinton (Auckland, 2020-04-08)

#237

This is a must............. If the Health minister can go mountain biking or walking on the beach with his family then there is no reason why this can't happen.

Scott Chapman (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#238

Maintenance of each course is required in terms of survival and financial crisis once Covid-19 has been dealt with. We can achieve this with one or two workers that can manage and minimize their contact risk. This is a low risk activity.

Waka Wilkie (Hastings, 2020-04-08)

#241

I agree essential maintenance should be allowed on golf courses.

Steve Law (Hamilton, 2020-04-08)

#244

We need our staff to maintain the courses

Damian Lloyd (Brisbane, 2020-04-08)

#247

Golf is essential for the mental health of me and many kiwis. Our passion should not be diminished due to this lockdown

Maa Chew Connolly (Hamilton, 2020-04-08)

#248

Me and my husband maintain a 9 hole golf course in south Westland, challenged by weather conditions and all work is done free or volunteered now we now have the time to maintain due to lock down but are not allowed to, the course suffers once again.

Fiona Deans (Whataroa, 2020-04-08)

#249

Great clubs will close for a long time without this

Brad Pettifer (Auckland, 2020-04-08)

#251

Because if selling spirits and getting them delivered touching the retail assistants hand then the couriers through to how ever many touch it at Home is essential so is mowing the golf course where 100s of thousands are looking forward to returning once this is over . Not only good for the economy it will
Also help with less domestic violence then spirits .

Matthew Blackbourn (Tauranga, 2020-04-08)

#252

I feel that the grounds keepers would be able to be isolated from others. And it prevents golf courses being ruined and requiring enormous amounts of work and funding to get them back to a usable state.

Josephine Jones (Pegasus tow., 2020-04-08)

#258

We cannot afford the capital to regain our greens back if we are unable to maintain them.twice a week.
A shame to lose our clubs contribution to keeping our elderly folk engaged in the community.

Aaron Rangihika (Kawerau, 2020-04-08)

#263

I think this is important

Sophie Neal (Kapiti, 2020-04-08)

#264

I’m signing because when all this is over, people will need recreation and a place to hang with some friends and enjoy some freedom. Golf and golf courses will help improve well being, especially when all other sport has been delayed or canceled

Robert Ferguson (Queenstown, 2020-04-08)

#265

As a golfer I understand the cost of not acting now will have on clubs who play an important part in people's lifestyle and well being.

Jarrod Calkin (Marton, 2020-04-08)

#266

I’m signing because it makes no sense and adds no risk to have a couple of people on a golf course keeping it maintained for when lockdown is removed.

People are working on roads, they should be allowed to work on golf courses.

Simon Probert (Auckland, 2020-04-08)

#267

I want all golf courses to survive going forward

Colin Owens (Wellington, 2020-04-08)

#269

If this doesn’t happen it could put many clubs out of business and it easy to maintain the safe measures and still do basic maintenance.

Jon Morrison (Tauranga, 2020-04-08)

#270

Golf club member

Colin McLeod (Dunrdin, 2020-04-08)

#272

I don’t believe a couple of green keepers will be at risk on a golf course and if we don’t maintain the greens they can be damaged easily and most golf courses don’t have the revenue to be able to repair at a later date.
It is played a lot by older demographic and long term important for exercise and social interaction
Our economy is going to take a hit once this is all over so a bit of common sense now will all help down the track.

Murray Batger (Whangarei, 2020-04-08)

#276

I’m signing because it is absolutely crucial that clubs should have at least one of their green staff to carry out maintenance on the golf course.
Greens are the heart of the golf course. If you don’t have greens you don’t have a golf course or a club. Plain and simple!

Darrin Steedman (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#277

I’m signing because it is crucial to the ongoing viability of golf courses in New Zealand to be able to maintain a minimal level of course maintenance.

Tim Borren (Wellington, 2020-04-08)

#278

I play golf a lot and I’d hate to see our course along with others suffering from lack of maintenance during this period. This is serious these courses are a business and we could potentially lose golf courses around NZ because of this. NZ is on a international scale for having plentiful gold courses and should do our best to not jeopardise that.

Sam Raymond (Taumarunui, 2020-04-08)

#282

I'm signing because I believe that essential maintenance can be carried out safely within lockdown conditions.

Karen Billings (Upper Hutt, 2020-04-08)

#283

I play golf and live our course. This abdication of responsibility from MBIE

Derek Locke (Lower Hutt, 2020-04-08)

#286

Golf is one if the highest participation sports in the country. Maintenance can easily be done is a risk free manner.

If parks and florists can maintain thier areas, why cant golf courses...???

Kevin Budden (Auckland, 2020-04-08)

#294

I’m paying green fees for someone to fix it.

Ryan Steward (Tauranga, 2020-04-08)

#295

I’m signing because, it is safe for the grounds person to maintain the golf course. They will not be in contact with anyone else. It will save a lot of damage to the course being able to do the essential maintenance now. If left it will cost a lot of money to get it back to normal.

Jan Flewellen (Wellington, 2020-04-08)

#296

I believe that recreational facilities should be looked afterjust like council parks and national parks

Nathan McGrath (Brisbane, 2020-04-08)

#297

I enjoy my golf and am itching to get out for a game after being in lockdown and am worried that courses won't be able to played on for a long time

Mark Joyce (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#300

There is no sensible reason why they shouldn’t be allowed to keep doing their job!

Liz Koni (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#304

It's the right thing to do.
Show some commonsense.

Mike Rubick (New Plymouth, 2020-04-08)

#307

I believe there is little risk of virus spread from workers carrying out golf course maintenance.

Colin Gray (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#308

We need to keep these courses alive as there will be life after this lockdown. Good on you Den & Timmy

Joan Kelliher (Auckland, 2020-04-08)

#314

Our courses need care!

Tom Bliss-Bennett (Bulls, 2020-04-08)

#316

It is important for clubs to be able to have their greens maintained otherwise additional unnecessary expenditure will be required when golf clubs are already struggling financially.

Craig Russell (One tree point, 2020-04-08)

#317

We want to keep our greenkeepers and office staff in work. Our club will not be able to afford green recovery and we risk losing our golf club.

Jude Parke (Otaki, 2020-04-08)

#318

SAVE OUR GREENS. The greenkeepers have spent countless hours and money perfecting the greens, in 4 weeks it will all be money fdown the drain if they are not able to keep up the barest maintenance!

Sandi Notredame (Matakatia 0930, 2020-04-08)

#319

Letting golf courses deteriorate by preventing maintenance will be detrimental to the health and mental wellbeing of thousands of NZers, particularly older players, for whom golf is their main form of excercise and social activity.

Jocelyn Livesey (dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#320

Our greens are dying and the club will not survive costing jobs for the staff and needed recreational services when the lock down ends

Darcy Parke (Ōtaki, 2020-04-08)

#325

It’s a no brainer that one person on a mower cannot perform his or her task without endangering another person

Richard Clemens (Hamilton, 2020-04-08)

#329

I’m an avid golfer and weeks of neglect on a golf course can mean many months getting the course back up to scratch . Member numbers aren’t fantastic and many golf clubs are struggling as it is which could mean courses closing .

Sam Novak (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#330

I'm a golfer and it makes sense

Maurice O'Reilly (Masterton, 2020-04-08)

#335

Golf courses are a multi million dollar asset that need to be up kept. It is a double standard if the council can mow there grounds yet private clubs cant undertake basic maintenance

Karl George (Wellington, 2020-04-08)

#338

It’s common sense

George Witana (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#345

Our golf courses need to be maintained to prevent thousands having to be spent to get them back to standard.
This would also allow us to use them quite quickly after lockdown is over which is good for both mental & physical health.

Wendy Roulston (Christchurch, 2020-04-08)

#346

Because our golf clubs are essential to maintain

Sean Withy (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#349

The precious ecosystems of New Zealand golf courses are at risk during the Level 4 Lockdown. With minimal risk to themselves or the public skeleton staff could carry out maintenance operations to nurture New Zealand's golf courses

Neale Pitches (Wellington, 2020-04-08)

#352

I’m a golfer and part time greenkeeper who really believes in keeping his course in respectable conditions and that a lot of courses will not be able to recover ever from loss of greens and not having enough money this will be deverstating in the golfing world. With cautious perimeters such as one greenkeeper only and hourly restrictions minimal time on the course this is very realistic. Thanks a lot

Mitchell Kale (Tauranga, 2020-04-08)

#355

Not allowing the work to be done will cripple the recovery of many courses/business

Tim Williams (Christchurch, 2020-04-08)

#356

I fully support maintenance on golf courses.

Steve Bennett (Dunedin, 2020-04-08)

#367

Stupid to not let a person look after greens

Shaun Simpson (Auckland, 2020-04-08)

#372

The impact on golf courses will be immense if they cannot perform basic maintenance. This is a billion dollar industry who will see the lockdown period doubled before people can get back on the course for exercise and get the financials back up and running.

Mathew Potter (Canterbury, 2020-04-08)

#373

Greens will be ruined if no one is allowed to maintain them.

Rebecca Harkerss (Wellington, 2020-04-08)

#375

My husband and daughter play golf

Lee Palamo (Waikato, 2020-04-08)

#377

Keeping maintenance up.

Adele Aarsen (Te Awamutu, 2020-04-08)

#388

This makes common sense!

Lea Knowles (Christchurch, 2020-04-08)

#391

It's the right thing to do

Rhys Keepa Campbell (Hamilton, 2020-04-08)

#392

I play golf

Jack Clout (Wellington, 2020-04-08)

#399

I think that golf courses should be allowed to be mailing during lockdown

Andrew Body (Palmerston North, 2020-04-08)

#400

Some things are worth standing up for

Darren Gallot (Beach Haven, 2020-04-08)
