Great to have this proposed pathway to encourage people out if their vehicles and onto bikes or walk for short trips such as this

I love that my children can bike safely to school and would love for many others to have the opportunity to enjoy this physical activity and independence too.

Investments in neighbourhood walking and cycle paths make it safer for all of us and our children.

My kids could cycle to school but having no actual path makes it harder for them too and I don't want them on the road as its too busy with cars.

It will be great to make if safer for the community, especially for school kids.

Using foot paths rather than the side of the road when running (and kids cycling) would be far more preferable and safer, especially given that most of the road are 80km+, and that is if vehicles travelling on them adhere to the speed limits.

Alison Patterson (Ohoka, 2021-05-05)

I agree there is a need for the pathway

Safety for the kids/community

I live off #10 road and often walk around the block, it is unsafe to walk on the Tram road section and the roadside between the shops and #10 is very uneven to walk on. I would most definately welcome an extension to the pathway.

I once decided to walk to the shops with my baby in the pram, it was a disaster and turned around half way. So bumpy I had to move onto the road and keep looking for cars.

I would use this pathway to get my children to school.

Doing it for the kids! ❤

Heather Marquet (Rangiora, 2021-05-06)

It will be a great pathway for all to use, including the need for school children to use it to get to school safely.

Carrie Findlay (Rangiora, 2021-05-07)

We should all feel safe in our community to get to and from our local shopping facilities.

This is an ongoing problem in regards to safety for our children. Tram Rd is not suitable for children walking or biking to school. I have never let my children walk or bike to school specifically because I am not comfortable with them doing so without there being a separate track for them. Tram Rd is simply not a safe option for children to be on and the grass verge option where the pathway is incomplete is either simply too hard for the kids on bikes or results in soaked shoes in Winter for those on foot. Please consider this request and help keep our children safe.

It’s something our whole family will use
