I have banked with barclays for over 40 years. Since new mills closure we travel to marple to use the branch. I will not be travelling to stockport.

This is the last bank in Marple , there are many elderleu and disabled people who would struggle to get further afield, banks are an essential part of any community. Nor does everyone have access to or wants online banking as IT is confusing for them!!

Im signing because this is my elderly mothers bank and as she isnt computer literate at 92 she likes going in branch to sort her finances and for all the businesses in town that rely on a bank.

It's almost like Barclays haven't given it a 2nd thought to the elderly community of Marple. There must be many people who don't use cash machines, debit cards and rely heavily on cash from the bank...Internet banking is beyond alot too! What about the people with no family or transport to take them to the nearest branch...I personally think its disgusting that Barclays Bank is closing, they should be thinking of their customers!

This is ridiculous our community need their bank. Marple is a village with a lot of elderly people who rely on bank services. Not everyone can bank online! Local Business also rely on Barclays. Keep this one bank at least at this rate we won’t have any!

The closure of Barclays would leave the town (not a village) without a high street Bank. The only other major banking player is a Building Society and doesn’t have a cash machine. For the size of population we are badly underserved as it is and the Post Office alone is not big enough for those who are not digitally competent.

There will be zero banks left in Marple if Barclays closes. For a place the size of Marple, this is disasterous. Not all banking requirements can be carried out without actual facilities, especially for us local business owners in the community, and the many of the older generation who live locally.

People need High Street Banks with face to face contact, their are thousands of people of all ages whom are not computer literate for many reasons and have great difficulties with telephone banking too, travelling miles to get to a Bank is totally unacceptable for those whom have mobility issues or the lack of good transport services or a car, with Banking fraud on the rise and scammers hacking into our telephones and skimming Bank cards the need for reassurance of entering a high street Bank with the ability to speak to a banking official has never been more a necessity after all the majority of us are customers of a least one banking institution or are we to close our accounts and keep are monies under our mattresses , the Banks need us the customer as much as we need them and to reconsider these closures and serve all customers and their individual requirements one size does not fit all and it never will.
