It is vital that this gem of old Newport's architectural heritage be saved from demolition and be brought back to life and used for some meaningful purpose - for example, as there is a genuine historical link to Salmons ownership how about inviting AML to help with the restoration and utilize it as an extension to their museum for the exhibition of archival materials? Or even better, as a new HQ and museum for NPHS? One final observation - I realize that the corrugated tin roofing is the only thing that has preserved the structure from disintegrating for the last 50 years but I would love to see, as its crowning glory, the building be thatched as it must originally have been. That would really add to its uniqueness and be another feather in Newport's cap!David Bews (NewportPagnell, 2021-08-17)

This is one of the most significant historic buildings in Newport Pagnell. It is scandalous that its owners have allowed it to deteriorate to an appalling state over many years and Milton Keynes Council has taken no effective action even to halt its decline, much less to restore it.Euan Henderson (Newport Pagnell, 2021-08-18)

I believe our heritage matters more today than at any other time. We must treasure and preserve unique buildings in the face of pressures of development, where all traces of the past are removed to be replaced by banal and repetitive and indifferent architecture. Projects such as preserving a much loved building are community building activities, bringing people together for a common purpose who care about their future legacy. This is good for everyone's mental health and feeling of well being as well as preserving our heritage for future generations.Caroline Ireland (Bridport, 2021-08-23)
