The policy is cruel and inflicts a painful death on its victims.

Edouard Gendron (Ipswich, 2023-04-09)

#206

No animal should suffer due to the ignorance of people. There are better ways to control the issue of stray animals. Firstly through education and secondly by implementing mandatory (and free) sterilisation of pets.

Laura Lotter (Perth, 2023-04-10)

#209

I’m against cruelty towards animals

Terryl Confiance (Victoria, 2023-04-10)

#213

There are better way to control stray pet populations with sterilization , and adoption programs. It has been proven time and time again that mass poisoning is not only inhumane and cruel but it affects environment as a whole. Our reefs are now also being affected by the poison washing into the ocean. We will eventually eat the fish and have this same poison in our bodies.

pollyanna Pool (Victoria, 2023-04-10)

#216

I would like for this poisoning of our animals to stop!!! Period.

Bernard Sullivan (Mahe, 2023-04-10)

June Lucie (Victoria, 2023-04-10)

#222

The use of poison for dog control measures is barbaric and inhumane. Law needs to be amended and enforcement applied

#229

We as a nation need to stop being so horribly cruel to animals.

Tanja Allcorn (Sans Soucis, 2023-04-10)

#232

Cruelty to animals is despicable. In most countries it is a criminal offence. Animals must be put down humanely, if the possibility all other recourses have been exhausted. And last but not least, when the government itself is the perperprator, a signal is being sent to the population, that citizens too can conduct their lives without empathy, kindness and benevolence towards their fellow menn.

Marie Lauritzen (Jessheim, 2023-04-10)

#238

The inhumane act of slaughtering animals by poisoning sickens me

Ann-Marie price (Anse la Mouche, 2023-04-10)

#240

The inhumane killing of stray dogs is not acceptable. More budget is required to capture, spay, tag and release or rehome. Pet owners also must take responsibility and do right by their animals.

Michelle St Ange (Anse Royale, 2023-04-10)

#241

I see the mass poisoning as blatant organised animal cruelty and that does not solve the stray dog population long term.
As a citizen I feel this has been done in my name which I do not agree to.
We are supposed to be a civilised nation and should find more civilised ways of dealing with strays and focus on enforcing laws already in place for irresponsible pet owners.

Anania Asba (Mahe, 2023-04-10)

#242

we need to stop this inhumane act on animals

Linda Cui (victoria, 2023-04-10)

Martina Belloni (Roma, 2023-04-10)

#250

Firstly, poisoning stray dogs is not an effective method of population control. It only leads to a temporary reduction in their numbers and does not address the ROOT CAUSE of the problem. The root cause of stray dog population is primarily due to the lack of proper animal birth control measures and irresponsible pet ownership.

Secondly, poisoning stray dogs is an inhumane way to treat animals. Dogs are SENTIENT beings capable of feeling pain and suffering, and it is our moral obligation to treat them with compassion and respect. Poisoning dogs causes immense suffering and can lead to a slow and painful death.

Thirdly, poisoning stray dogs can have adverse effects on the environment and other animals. The poison used to kill dogs can also harm other animals that come in contact with it, leading to unintended consequences and ecological imbalances.

Christophe Carbognin (Glacis, 2023-04-10)

#253

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
(Mahatma Ghandi)
The Government of the Seychelles has failed to impliment the Control and Protection of Dogs Acts. And the dogs are suffering and so are the animal shelters. My thanks go to the people at the shelters where the dogs can feel safe and loved!
It breaks my heart to see that people think they have the right to kill this loveables creatures.
Please Note: Dogs did not choose to be strays!

Daniela Marie Mueller (Simonsberg, 2023-04-10)

#256

Dogs deserve to live

Emily Musharbash (abu dhabi, 2023-04-10)

#257

I’ve been in the Seychelles recently, I saw how hard you are working to preserve the nature. To preserve and make understand all the people the importance of the balance between the animals and the humans the actions that a government take have to reflect it. It is not human kill dogs, there are methods used in other countries like catch, neuter and release, microchip the dogs with owner and fine them for abandoning their pets. I world in which countries find just violent solution for problems is very sad for our children and what are we teaching them? What is the future we want for them?

Annelisa Nicolini (Rome, 2023-04-10)

#259

The ridiculous inhuman behavior of a government that always claims and pretends to save the nature and animals of the Seychelles, has also to protect the best friend of the humans.
STOP KILLING THE DOGS

And the government should pay for that

Vimal woosye (Flacq, 2023-04-10)

Please protect the animals in Seychelles! Heavily fine owners of unsterilized cats and dogs.
Heavily fine those who are cruel to animals, including those who put dogs in tiny kennels and those who tie dogs on short chains or ropes.

Cyril Lebeaupin (Mahe, 2023-04-11)

Emma Houareau Mothee (Victoria, 2023-04-11)

Animal cruelty is mass poisoning. There better more human ways

Nichola Abrams (Victoria, 2023-04-11)

#315

I care, I have moral values and empathetic towards others. I feel for them and want to stand up for those who doesn't have a voice. It reflects very bad on my nation, in this day and age to take the cowardice route and poison harmless animals who by no fault of their own ended up on the street. We have failed big time.

Nathalie Houarau (Victoria, 2023-04-11)

#319

On behalf of the Belgian zookeepers, I demand to STOP this terror against animals!!! this action is unacceptable in a civilized society! When I was vacationing in the Seychelles the islands seemed like a real paradise to me! don't make it hell! Stop it!!! Animals are not to blame! it is necessary to comprehensively solve the problem of homeless animals through sterilization, vaccination and the creation of animal shelters! I brought 2 lovely street dogs from Seychelles to Belgium and I'm happy that they are alive! I feel very sorry for the poor animals that are now being abused and killed!

#330

Animals should not be poisoned.

Michael De Charmoy Lablache (Praslin, 2023-04-11)

#332

These policy decisions are unacceptable in a supposedly civilized part of the world. It illustrates again the saying that the whole of creation is still waiting for us to become human!!!! I believe Seychelles has some cruelty to animal protection laws. Maybe there are avenues to prosecute corresponding decision makers

Karl Ammann (Nanyuki, 2023-04-11)

#334

Steven Haver (Stemwede, 2023-04-11)

#344

I’m signing this because it’s insane that all these dogs are dying and getting maltreated! Even the dogs that are kept in the Kennels aren’t treated properly and given any love or attention? What are we taking them off the streets for?? To isolate them in cages alone??

Alice Chionni (Bergamo, Lombardia, 2023-04-11)

I am against the mass poisoning of stray dog. We as human who is suppose to be superior should've been able to conduct this exercise in less cruel manner. The organisation/department responsible did a lazy quick fix job and didn't even do a good one either.

Pavan Moolraj (Victoria, 2023-04-11)

#356

I am sickened by the atrocity perpetrated against dogs that were let down by humans and finally killed by human hands in such a barbaric fashion. To condone it and say that's the way it has always been done does not make it right. It is unethical and downright inhumane. The problem has been staring everyone in the face for years and nothing of note attempted, such as running a neutering programme for strays and releasing them again. Dogs don't live very long lives (not street dogs anyway) like humans so a programme like that would have made a big difference over the space just a few years. Myriam of Pet Haven Society had a torrid time trying to set up a shelter with pretty much no help or encouragement from the powers that be. To this day she survives on donations to help as many as she can. A travesty. Government funding should to to her outfit, SSPCA and the likes of Rita on La Digue with around 40 dogs all on her own. All these people are on the ground there, if you really care to listen, listen to them. Fund them and let them expand. Educate. Get people to neuter their dogs. Ban breeding for a while. And ban importation of dogs till the problem has levelled out. For God sake don't kill. Have we not had enough of that.?

Suzanne Finnegan (Celbridge, Co.Kildare, 2023-04-11)

Shirley Honthier (Roma, 2023-04-11)

#372
