Paul McCloghrie (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#4833

I'm signing because this is ridiculous...they keep on exploiting the poor making everything unaffordable.
250000 people X 200 a month = 50 000 000 per month.
This is not rocket science to figure out there are people that want to get rich overnight by exploiting us.
Why screw the people everytime, where's the budget from.the government to upkeep infrastructure, why should we keep paying for it???

Aslam Hoosen (Gauteng, 2024-07-04)

We cannot bear anymore, we have nothing left...and this is an excuse use to steal from people, look at the number of people who have suddenly been classified as businesses at their residential addresses, and notice how these people are completely unable to get help...this is criminality at the very very least...

Faheem Cajee (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4852

I disagree with this fee as we still suffer from power outages without any proper communication.. and when there is communication, it’s false

Sabrina F (JHB, 2024-07-04)

#4854

I feel the service is too much, i can't affort it. The taffiff increase on its own is a lot. Annually i get i 4% on my salary which is not enough and does not cover much. Our country's economy is also suffering , basic food is costly. I only don't understand why should the people of Gauteng suffer more.

Mbali Sithole (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4859

I'm signing this because I don't agree with the service fee imposed on us. I want it to end with emmidiate effect.

Sibusisiwe Thabede (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4860

I'm opposed to this surcharge and the exorbitant tariff that is being charged. Simply, we, the responsible paying customers, are being forced to pay for all those people that are not paying.

#4861

It’s day light robbery! Everything is expensive already

Noluthando Mashaba (Germiston, 2024-07-04)

#4862

This is ridiculous and not affordable. Cost of living is so high and I person cannot keep a home alive with all these increases. And why u want to charge us extra when u can't even provide proper service. We cannot bail you out with your debt with Eskom.

Bhavisha Natha (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4867

#4877

We are already experiencing expensive electricity prices with low units what more if you add R200. This is ridiculous. I am petitioning because of the cost of living and of electricity

Siphokazi Macingwane (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4879

The rate is too high

Mahanci Maluleke (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#4882

Cost of electricity has become unaffordable, extremely so. Nersa is always approving Eskom increases without considering consumers' affordability. Now this additional amount by municipalities is insane. What about millions of people who do not pay a cent for electricity? Why punish people who pay instead of trying to get non payers to comply.

Faith Nobantu Mkhuma (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4883

This must stop- stealing from SA citizens

Zeus Gusson (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

Sipho Dingilizwe (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#4893

Service delivery is practically non existent but tariffs keep increasing. We should not have to pay for corruption and lack of control in the government departments. It's time that municipalities take responsibility for the shortage of money. Everything leads back to one thing.... Corruption and greed.

Maya Laxmidas (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4896

The electricity bill is way too much.

Thandi Vilakazi (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4897

I’m signing because this is a callous and thinly disguised way for COJ to instantly generate revenue for no additional value added whatsoever.

Peter Volavsek (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4899

Because we cannot afford this at this economy

Londiwe Sithebe (jhb, 2024-07-04)

Ken BAARD (Randpark ridge ex 16., 2024-07-04)

#4903

The ridiculous tariff increase on electricity whilst CORRUPT MINISTERS is not even paying a cent

Hanlie Fourie (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#4904

This is ridiculous, Must power for the electricity and now pay a fee to have the meter which i paid for. This makes no ssnse.

Ray Wilson (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4912

I totally don't with the R200 fix rate

Mbulelo Kom (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4913

Stop fraud & corruption. We as residents must continue to fork out funds which is killing our pockets. We paying more & more for electricity but getting lesser units all the time. What a rip off. Squatters protest & want everything free & given to them while we as tax payers continue to foot the bill. This is utter bullshit

Gita Lala (JHB, 2024-07-04)

#4914

I don't agree with the monthly service fee that is imposed on us. It is ridiculous

Letjeta Molakeng (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

MICHELLE SEBOLELO Monageng (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4925

I don't agree to this increase. We're already stretched so thin financially and shouldn't be made to fix the providers f#$k ups!!

Robyn Van As (Jhb, 2024-07-04)

#4927

I can not afford to pay this money it’s even hard to buy 100 rand electricity

Andy Mpengesi (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#4931

No proper consultation was done. Firstly we were forced to go onto prepaid and now paying a service fee forcibly.

Pauline Cox (Strubensvalley, 2024-07-04)

#4933

Not happy with 200 monthly mandatory from city power and abnormal rate increase while there are people who not paying at all

Tshimangadzo Evens Mudau (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4936

It's not fair to increase electricity tokens and add an unnecessary R200. First Etolls now this. Informal settlements get electric free yet we must pay exorbitant fees.

Robert SAMSON (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#4937

The amount required is too high and I'm unable to afford

Banele Kambule (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4944

The additional amount is ridiculously unreasonable and we cannot afford more payment

Mpho Mthethwa (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4945

the charges are unfair, households are already under strain, adding the extra charges just adds to the stress of keeping a household standing

Henry Oosthuizen (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4946

I am signing because I want the R200 monthly service fee implemented by City Power to be scrapped as we are barely surviving and do not have extra money lying around.

Gladwin Thami Mfono (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4951

It is too high

Althea Kivu (Jhb, 2024-07-04)

#4953

I am the sole breadwinner of my household. My brother is unemployed. My husband is very sick and unemployed I can barely afford to put food on the table. My husband does not qualify for Sassa or old age pension. This extra R200 is just going to take food out of our mouths again. My brother was denied the R350 grant. So I don't see why I should pay and we do not get benefits as SA citizens who pay tax.

Francis Scorgie (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#4954

Im signing because this electricity fee is too much for me.

Tshedza Ramavhale (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4958

Dylan Massyn (Randburg, 2024-07-04)

#4974

I am sick and tired of this government pocketing our hard-earned money and using it for their own personal gain. This corruption has to stop! All of these tariffs are simply a money-making scheme that only benefits the members of the government and no one else. It's all bulls**t, and has to stop!

Dailin Lala (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4975

Because I disagreeing to this ridiculous fee, we can't afford this

Chad Sarkhot (Johannesburg north, 2024-07-04)

Thulani Masinga (Kibler Park, 2024-07-04)

#4981

Unconstitutional. Unjust. Expensive.

Sthabile Msiza (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4982

It is getting to expensive to afford our basic rights!

Philip Voigt (Bromhof, 2024-07-04)

#4983

Electricity and water hihe plus that R230 its extortion and y is it only in JHB

Gillian steady (johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4987

The cost of prepaid electricity is already exorbitant. We already pay hefty tariffs whenever we purchase electricity as the ‘admin’ costs account for over 50% of purchase price. Additionally, this monthly charge was implemented without consultation - in an already depressed economy with high inflation.

Kefilwe Mokwena (Westdene Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4988

I’m not in agreement of the service fee charge , over and above the increase

Gayle Pinetown (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

Cost of living .s already y so high thus us just unfair. Thus us taking food our if peoples kotbs and inhumane

Rene Albertus (Roodepoort, 2024-07-04)

#4995

I am signing because I cannot afford to pay R200 monthly as I am already struggling to buy electricity close to R1000. Electricity is too expensive. I sometimes recharge with R50 so how will afford R200?

Relebohile Tsotetsi (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4996

I cannot afford any additional money for electricity payment. Am already falling behind with CoJ bill and the R200 is putting me in debt

Brian Tau (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

#4997

The electricity provider has not been able to maintain consistent delivery and residents have had to look at generating their own electricity. However residents cannot move totally off grid, and do still purchase power from COJ. But for Eskom and COJ feel they need to make up for the loss of revenue due to ghe aforementioned alternatives we've had to take, and thus penalize residents with these additional levies, in addition to the 12.7pct increase. We are paying for the other areas / residents who have the luxury of FREE POWER!!!!

Liezl Warneke (Emmarentia Ext.1, 2024-07-04)

#4998

Electricity is already so expensive, we cannot afford it any more

Bronwynne Hassan (Ridgeway, 2024-07-04)

#4999

Electricity is expensive enough, an addition charge on top of an increase is just going to bury everyone

Sibu Radebe (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)
