As a pensioner it has become unaffordable.I bought R1000.00 electricity and only got approximately 202 units which is not enough for the month. What do we get for SASSA, so either you buy electricity or you starve.
Vannesia Blaauw (Gauteng, 2024-07-04)

Unaffordability - life is tough as is. And lack of consultationThamsanqa Xulu (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)
#5235
R200 service is too much for people like me who's buying prepaid electricity city power must just focus on the house holds who are not buying. As city power you know which meter numbers not appearing on your system but you don't have balls to confront them and easy way is to milk your loyal customers. All this will make your loyal customers to join those who are not paying.Hitekani Honours Belankulu (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

I do not agree with City Power implementing high, unnecessary tariffs.Olivia Chetty (Johannesburg, 2024-07-04)

WE PAYING CITIZENS ARE BEING PREJUDICED FOR THE NON-PAYERS... City Power must recover its revenue from defaulting residents and Companies and State-Owned Entities - WHY MUST WE PAY FOR THEIR NEGLIGENCE - Billions written off in Bad Debt - WE HAVE TO PAY - Billions lost due to corruption - WE HAVE TO PAYHAYLEY JANUARY (ROODEPOORT, 2024-07-04)

It is ridiculous to add onto what we are paying whereas we are using prepaid electricity.Noluthando Cele (South Hills, 2024-07-04)
#5276
Because it is ridiculous that we as the people that are unemployed have to spend so much money on electricity and get so little units out of it and the electricity gets finished so quickly where a R50 doesn't even last 3 days and only a fridge and TV uses electricity we even afraid to put on the geyser because it won't even last 2days its really ridiculous i mean for R50 it was 15.2 units now its 13. Something units for a R50 and now its going to get finished faster I already struggled to keep head above water with the 15.2 units now how must 1 survive with the increase you guys are really killing us and even at the shops we still have to pay extra R5 on the R50 to get our electricity this is really not fair to all of us South Africans its really to much for us to handle.René Johnson (Boksburg, 2024-07-04)

#5283
City Power is owing Eskom over R1 billion rands, they have clearly mismanaged the money collected when we buy electricity, now they cogged up this Ponzi scheme to raise the money to pay Eskom.City Power did not built any infrastructure, the dilapidated infrastructure was built by Eskom.
The 12,7% tariff increase is enough on its own...this R200 fee is just daylight robbery.
