I need to keep the Health Care I worked for.

Joseph Revere (Manorville, 2022-03-21)

The Older we get, the more we need decent insurance, plain & simple. It’s a travesty that our healthcare needs are being dramatically challenged and presented in a way that’s design to convince people to join a plan that will be cumbersome & cost more by telling non-truths & outright lies.

Shayna Caul (Delray Beach, 2022-03-21)

#5416

As a retired Fire Officer who regularly visits several doctors for my lungs, sinuses, cancer and and other issues directly linked to my career serving the City, I feel betrayed by the City of NY.

Hold NYC government accountable for turning their back on its retired employees

MILTA TORRES (Brooklyn, 2022-03-21)

Retirees agree to low compensation to be provided for in retirement. It’s unfair to take that away now.

Linda Gonzalez (New York, 2022-03-21)

#5437

I will be retiring in about 2 months. When I joined the City workforce I knew in my computer title, I could make more in the private sector. But I gave that up in large part because of the benefits that were promised to me. Not just while I was working, but upon retirement as well.

Jennifer Meltzer (Flushing, 2022-03-21)

Please give retirees what they were promised by not appealing the decision. And please restore our retiree health fund which DeBlasio raided.

Carol Lucchesi (Boynton Beach, 2022-03-21)

My mother worked for the city her entire career and deserves the healthcare she was promised. The city should do what’s fair and give its retirees what was agreed to.

Everyone knows that Medicare is the best insurance to have and the MAPP takes it away from us in place of a private insurance plan that is weaker than the current plan in place.

Lori Gordon (Whitestone, 2022-03-21)

#5554

I stayed loyal to NYC in spite of many job offers from Westchester and Nassau Counties knowing that when I would retire I would have good benefits. I am shocked that you want to take what was promised to me away. Why Mayor Adams?

Dr. Mary McInerney (Brooklyn, 2022-03-22)

#5561

I am signing because I believe that Mayor Adam should not appeal Judge Frank's decision. The loyal retirees of NYC deserve to receive the Health benefits they were promised.

Anna Proscia (Brooklyn,NY, 2022-03-22)

My husband is retired from the NYC Department of Sanitation. We both are on his retirement medical plan for our Medicare Part D and supplementary plan. We are not interested in the MAP plan as our primary physicians do not participate nor do the hospitals we would choose for certain specific needs as we age. Our current medical plan will be unaffordable if the extra charges threatened if we do not accept the MAP (not normal rate increases) are implemented. Please stop this travesty.

Judith Tenzer (Brooklyn, 2022-03-22)

Retired members should be protected. There benefits should not be negotiated by anyone but the retirees

Thomas Danz (East Islip, 2022-03-22)

#5592

We need to come together to stop the erosion of healthcare benefits. We all contribute to Medicare and Social Security all our working lives and, today, they help take care of retirees over 65 or disabled. Abandoning Traditional Medicare as a give back hurts us today, and will impact you tomorrow. There are alternatives to satisfy the needs of all the parties involved, as suggested in this Daily News op-ed:
