I want girls to stop feeling undignified when they're on the period; through use of socks and other fabric. #freepadsnow

I love this movement. And I think it's a great thing that someone thought of it and is working to make it happen.

(Bloemfontein, 2018-02-20)

The cost of sanitary pad is appalling. The majority of disadvantaged teenagers and families cannot afford them and young girls find themselves at an even more disadvantage

(Port Elizabeth, 2018-02-20)

#409

Pads are a necessity and not a luxury. School Girls are especially negatively affected academically because of a lack of money for these important products.

(Johannesburg, 2018-02-20)

#411

It's the right thing to do, it's for the dignity of all women.

(Johannesburg, 2018-02-20)

If you give free condoms you should give free sanitary pads.

(Cape Town, 2018-02-20)

As I woman I feel like this is an urgent yet ignored necessity....more important than free condoms.

(Johannesburg, 2018-02-23)

#439

As a female I understand how important it is to ALWAYS have sanitary towels and I can't begin to imagine how I would cope without them so my heart goes out to those who's lives have to be put on hold because of not having sanitary towels not because they aren't readily available but, because they can't afford them. Women shouldn't have to pay money to deal with issues that are beyond their control. Every women deserves comfort.
It's a great movement and I want to be apart of it.

(Gauteng, 2018-02-24)

#457

The devasting and long-term impact of not affording young women sanitary pads is too much to bear for any progressive citizen.

(Amsterdam, 2018-02-25)

#459

Poor people and especially poor schoolgirls need them more than the scented condoms that are provided.

(Durban, 2018-02-25)

(Cape town, 2018-02-25)

#470

No girl deserves to grow up feeling uncomfortable in their own skin. Sanitary pads will give them more confidence

(Johannesburg, 2018-02-25)

#471

Because I'm a girl and I've started my period unexpectedly before and the discomfort, embarrassment and shame of not having a pad when you need one is unforgettable. I can't imagine having to go through your whole menstrual period like that. Pads should be free as this is a natural and necessary course of life and the girls who go through this don't choose their situation.

(Miri, 2018-02-25)

#473

(enugu, 2018-03-01)

#507

This is an absolute basic right of all women who cannot afford essential feminine pads. Free and easy access to sanitary pads will ensure women all over South Africa are given the dignity they deserve and are entitled to for effectively dealing with a natural monthly body function

(Somerset West, 2018-03-04)

#508

It is ridiculous that we can get condoms for free in our toilets - and we have a choice whether we have sex or not, but we cannot even buy sanitary pads/tampons in our toilets!! It is humiliating for young girls to have to go home early from school on the day their period starts, but they can get condoms in their toilets.... It is sexist to have girls and women stay at home, during their periods, when they cannot afford pads/tampons. It is unethical that females choose their contraception based on the fact that if they choose this method, they do not have their monthly periods, even though they would have preferred another method

(Centurion, 2018-03-04)

#510

This is a very important cause. We can supply free condoms, why not sanitary pads.

(Johannesburg, 2018-03-05)

#513

(Cape Town, 2018-03-27)

#522

I know of many young women struggling to buy sanitary products. They would rather buy food then "waste" R50 on pads. How does our homeless women deal with their period? This will clearly help

(Johannesburg, 2018-05-10)

#526

Periods are not a choice!! If we can make free condoms, we can make government brand pads and tampons

(Dubai, 2018-08-14)

#528
