Long term investments are not mining.
These companies are not there for anything besides self interest.

The dam is beautiful and very important to me and my friends who go there over the holidays

(Krugersdorp, 2019-12-13)

#443

Im Signing because of the constant destruction we do without taking into affect what it does to local communities. This is the type of damage that effects everyone and has major consequences. The fact that this was allowed is already utter non sense.

(Roodepoort, 2019-12-13)

#447

I want this world to stop getting messed up

(Johannesburg, 2019-12-13)

That natural environment helps us survive. Without it we would all be dead. And just for a little bit more profit, it is not worth the destruction of this beautiful environment

(Pietermaritzburg, 2019-12-13)

#463

Of the environmental impact it will cause

(Pietermaritzburg, 2019-12-13)

Nature > money

(Greytown, 2019-12-13)

#490

I'm tired of seeing nature suffer and people not caring about it. It's time for change and that only happens when we change ourselves.

(Pretoria, 2019-12-13)

#492

1) We must stop destroying our planet and think about ecosystems first! Clean water/clean air/contaminant free soil.
2) I have friends who live in that area who made me aware of this potential tragedy.

(Lehighton, 2019-12-13)

#493

I'm signing because I care.

(Pretoria, 2019-12-13)

#495

This is my sister-in-law's second home and it is wonderful for children to grow up here. There isn't much in gauteng for children to do, we dont have beaches so we rely on dams like this for balance in our lives. Please save the dam!

(Randburg, 2019-12-13)

#507

I’ve been there before and it is a lovely spot and a home to many, including one of my best friends. Full of memories and that can’t be taken away from those who live and go there.

(Hilton, 2019-12-13)

If Buffelspoort dam is not preserved and mining rights are granted, then everything will be destroyed in a matter of months!

(Buffelspoort, 2019-12-13)

#516

This would just be a terrible loss to a priceless and amazing location that many people (even those who don't fish) would lose out on chance to enjoy. Protecting the environment is more important!

(Pretoria, 2019-12-13)

#518

(Kemptonpark, 2019-12-14)

We are building a house in the Eco Park at the dam, and it would be a great inconvenience. Not to mention that the whole ecosystem will be destroyed.

(Kroondal, 2019-12-14)

#552

I farm next to dam.

(Pretoria, 2019-12-14)

#578

It's greed that turns people into destroying the countryside. We need clean clear water that hasn't been tampered with. Plenty of mines have been mismanaged which effects the surrounding environment.

#586

I am signing because it is important to maintain the ecosystem and life within it. It is important to prevent pollution and loss of ecosystem as well as protecting the families who live there and want to continue to live there. Mining is a destructive action that has no place in such a beautiful place.

(Pretoria, 2019-12-14)

#587

I’m signing because this is damn sure insanity that mining companies and corrupt government officials want to destroy a water supply for people and animals?! What the hell is wrong with them!!!

I’m signing because I feel all the water, farming and recreation areas on the Buffelspoort Dam side of the highway should not be obliterated by more mining.
Mining should remain on the Marikana side where it has always been!
