Yet our hard earned money is being looted, stolen, and squandered on other expenses that do not pertain to municipal costs. I’m signing because our once beautiful City of KEMPTON Park has fallen into urban decay.Nothing has been maintained, and our streets full of potholes and unkempt sidewalks a total disgrace.
Besides the homeless makeshift shelters scattered along CR Swart Drive, Birchleigh and across our streets, our town is littered with rubbish. The street curbs have not been painted in years, and Street signage totally disregarded. There has been absolutely no maintenance of roads and effective management of municipal duties.
One can’t even call the Municipality for assistance, I am so ashamed and saddened by the total neglect of service levels in our once immaculate City.

The street lights never get fixed. The roads never get repaired, full of potholes. The sewerage stench in the CBD is unbearable. The sewerage overflow in the grounds of the Anglican Church in Margaret Ave is constant and repulsive. The litter in Kempton Park is a disgrace. The homeless people are now overtaking the pavements in CR Swart opposite the Magistrate's Court. Homeless people on Rietfontein Rd distributing litter and blocking the storm drains. We are in great need of SKILLED, HONEST, EFFICIENT and PROFESSIONAL council members and personnel. They should be reminded where their bread and butter comes from and to put on the council "jacket" on a daily basis, be prepared to do a good days work and be proud thereof. All services in Ekurhuleni have collapsed. Refuse collection from blue skips done only once every two weeks due to no trucks being available. Electricity and water interruptions occur every day. City of Ekurhuleni is filthy, especially Kemptonpark and Germiston. Our property valuations are overstated by up to 300% in the 2021 valuation roll.
