Save Idle Moor

#401

We need to save our green spaces

Amanda Cressey (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#403

I believe in keeping the Green Space on top of Idle Moor and not over developing a nice area which kept people alive through a difficult lockdown.

Ben Donaldson (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#412

There is too much use of green space

Mark Lawman (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#414

We have had enough new builds- refurbish existing stock

Denise Emptage (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#416

I'm signing this because they need to stop building houses on nice green space.

Poppy Firth (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#418

Stop taking our green spaces away. Use brown field sites and renovate empty properties.
We need green space for our children, future generations, prevent further flooding and for our mental health.

Elaine Horne (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#419

It’s a beautiful green area used by so many. Would be a shame to take away any more of the space

Shelly Mason (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#421

I feel strongly about our village being crammed with extra people and causing traffic problems. We need the green spaces that were once our heritage.

Ruth Hill (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#422

We need green spaces not more housing.Lack of school spaces, dentist, Doctors.Roads full! could go on.

Jacqueline wright (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#424

There are already too many houses in Idle and Thackley for doctors and schools etc. At certain times Leeds Road into Shipley is gridlocked and all the new builds at Cote Farm do not help.

Christine Kirkby (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#427

Green spaces need to be protected

Lynda Taylor (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#429

We have enough housing. Give green spaces a chance

Linda Hewer (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#437

I love my green space.

Louise McCunniff (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#439

Fields which provide habitat for so much wildlife has already become huge housing estates. House foundations, tarmac/blockpaving drives more tarmaced roads all reduce natural drainage. This all has a knock on effect like flooding for other people and wildlife. There are plenty off empty council houses/ flats and other properties that could be brought up to standard and create affordable housing for people who need it instead of lining the pockets of developers and the like

Lynne Craven (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#440

Green belt, schools, traffic
Places for children to play.

Sarah Normington (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#441

I'm concerned about the building of housing on a green space in which I have witness bat's, foxes, other small mammals and a variety of wildlife. The building would destroy the biodiversity of the area which is a ridiculous decision to undertake whilst we are experiencing a climate crisis and biodiversity collapse.

Julia Lencki (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#444

I oppose this development in our remaining green space

Alison Crosby (Bradford, 2021-09-11)

#451

Its sickening to see yet another green space in idle going ..we have enough housing here and dont know how the school will cope or the road leading up to the new proposed site .and for goodness sake leave something on the area for wildlife. You are destroying our lovely village with all this building ..

Sue Mills (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#452

Too many houses are being built in Idle, Thackley area. There are no more provisions such as schools, doctors, dentists, parking etc to cope with the demands. Also the traffic all these new houses are causing is horrific on the tiny roads around the area. On top of this because of all the concrete and no trees and green space the area is becoming a flood plane as the water has nowhere to go. We have to stop building and use the facilities and old buildings already there.

Julie Alexander (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#457

Too many open areas are being taken up for building. It’s not good.

Judy Hirst (Oakworth, 2021-09-12)

#459

I'm fed up of green space being built on and aided and abetted by a totally inept council.

Martin Molyneux (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#460

I live next to the moor on Sorrin Close, I spent hours as a kid running around those fields (and I still do now!) and it's awful to see huge chunks of it lost to housing every other year instead of keeping lovely green spaces for people to enjoy!

Abigail Swift (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#464

We need our green spaces, and the council should be concentrating on the empty houses we have, doing them up. No new building. Until the empty are full

Dawn Marie Smith (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#465

We need green spaces not more concrete building. There are enough new houses already built on Idle Moor

Jane Tordoff (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#466

I agree with with all the concerns raised within this petition, and more. Building on land known to be a former mining area is surely fraught with unforeseen problems that could mean the area could be blighted for years with an abandoned building site and secondly this is amongst the last of the remaining area of Idle Moor used by many walkers and many people exercising their dogs.

Andy Cooke (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#467

I love where I live and I use this greenspace every day with my dogs and for exercise. It has already been built on unnecessarily and it is changing this area beyond recognition. It makes me very sad that this greenspace is being desecrated for profit.

Christine Saunders (Bradford. West Yorkshire, 2021-09-12)

#471

I'm signing because I believe no more houses need to be built on this moor land. Many people use this for walks and there is a lot of nature around there that will be displaced.

Louise Watson (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#473

The access is a narrow road with three 90degree turns to access the green space. The massive trucks driving through Sorrin and Kenstone will cause serious damage to kerbs and roads. There are lots of young children living in this area now so a safety issue for busy traffic……which will increase between 45-90 extra cars once built. There are not enough doctors surgeries, schools or shops in the area to support our community after the most recent houses have been built let alone add to that number.

Jackie Bussey (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#475

I don’t want any more green belt to be built in. Why want to build on an old mine shafts spells danger to me

Dawn Langwade (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#476

I'm signing this petition because this field in question is used by residents already iving in the area to enjoy the outdoors and local area , walking their dogs. Over the 40 years I have lived I wrose many fields have been built on and access to green open spaces is getting less.
Totally against any more houses. Access to the named site is limited and we already have problems getting children into local schools and there's limited GPS available. Morehouse brings more cars so there's more exhaust fumes in the air and too navy cars in residential areas. Please stop.

Carol Weston (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#486

I want to protect our open green spaces

Steph Clark (Wrose, bradford, 2021-09-12)

#487

We don’t need more housing in idle. There is not the capacity in local schools, doctors etc to support more housing.

Sheila Laptew (Bradford, 2021-09-12)

#496

I am a resident of Thackley and believe that soon enough there won't be any green space in our area if the building carries on. We have accommodated the extension to Cote Farm and believe this should be enough in this area. We are in danger of becoming like Eccleshill and other areas of Bradford where there are no green spaces to enjoy.

Helen Imeson (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#499

Green space is important not just to me but to the whole community, plus the impact on local schools and drs surgery’s

Rebecca Exley (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#502

I'm signing the petition to ensure houses are not built on our green space, to ensure our streets do not have more congestion, to allow our schools to be at capacity and our GP surgeries to provide a service without more people

Adelle Brearley (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#503

There is not a road infrastructure, school, doctors & dental surgery to accept anymore houses.
The only green space available for stabling of horses in the area, Idle Moor should be left alone

Alan Hindle (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#504

We need to save as much green space as available for future offspring to be able to enjoy appreciate and to keep as many insects and small wild animals in their own habitats to protect them

Linda Hughes (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#507

No more housing on green land in this area . There is enough traffic as it is.

Robert Kedzierski (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#510

I live in the area

Neelam Chohan (Leeds, 2021-09-13)

#513

We previously had a home where Idle Moor was over the fence of our garden

Margaret Mcnulty (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#519

We are overwhelmed with new developments, develop brownfield sites first .

Anthony Gough (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#522

I am signing this petition because of a number of objections which I intend to put forward once formal plans are submitted to the council.

Anne Green (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#524

I think there are enough brownfield sites to build and develop on without the need to build here. Green space needs to be retained.

Robert Mackay (Blackridge, 2021-09-13)

#525

Further development will lead to greater congestion at the end of Green Lane. We need to protect the little green space that is left to ensure ecosystems survive!

Louise Curtis (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#529

My sister is very proud of her home, and would like to retain a level of pride within the comfort of a home she has worked hard to obtain

Robert Noble (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#530

We’re running out of green belt.

Matthew Oliver (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#531

Idle moor will be no more if you continue to use up the limited green space there !

Tracie Booth (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#533

I live in area and enjoy the view of the open green space from our house. Please don’t spoil the natural beauty of this moor.

Baljeet Sahota (Bradford, 2021-09-13)

#539

I'm signing because i live around the corner from where the proposed new houses are going to be built on urban green space, making an already bad traffic and parking situation worse and potentially blocking my views of the countryside

Steven Whitaker (Bradford, 2021-09-14)

#542

Keep the green space!!

Ayran Rowe (Bradford, 2021-09-14)

#543

we need our green spaces

angela wojdylo (bradford, 2021-09-14)

#547

This is the only piece of Idle Moor left and needs to be preserved

Hilary Kidd (Bradford, 2021-09-14)

#548

I'm signing because our local, and surrounding, community is losing out in so many ways... more green belt land is literally being taken from under our feet. New homes put additional pressure on our local schools, primary and secondary, which effects our children's education and its structure. It adds more pressure to our roads, effects pollution from more vehicles, in turn will this not effect everybody's carbon footprint and It will overstretch our public transport system and so much more. We already have very little youth/community groups and those we have will struggle to accommodate an increase in our younger generation who need to be "off the streets". This will result in more groups of teens/pre teens causing havoc in the community because "there's nothing better to do". This is already an issue and will, in turn, put more pressure on our local police/pcso's who are already stretched to capacity. I could literally go on and on.

Pamela Higgins (BRADFORD, 2021-09-14)

Please could someone provide me with the name of the genius who thinks that the small, narrow residential cul-de-sac that is Kenstone Crescent, with its 3 right angled bends, is an excellent access road for a building site on which to build 45 houses. Please can they knock and my door and take me down the crescent to show me how on earth this is feasible. When surveying work was ongoing the vehicles required were all over the kerbs and pavements and that was with no cars parked on the road. If a car is parked on the road, especially near the bends, it would be nigh on impossible to access the site. Are you proposing to impose a no parking ban on our street for over a year - surely not, and what happens to friends, relatives, visitors, workmen, health visitors etc who may need to park. Has anyone in your office even been to look at our crescent - nope, i thought not! We have recently suffered from the huge new site off Sandhill Fold - noise and dirt for 18 months.I watched the lorries come up Green Lane and drive on the wrong side of the road because they couldn't negotiate the bollards half way up the lane and Green Lane is like a motorway compared to Kenstone Crescent. Should the building go ahead I will be out every morning and evening videoing the vehicles recording them as they mount kerbs, pavements and driveways (and I assure you they will) and then contact Look North and Calendar and the media to publicise your disastrous decision making. I've not even started on the facts that this is classed as Urban Green Space and that the site is an old mining ground and the myriad of other reasons this proposal is insane. I know Bradford Council don't give a jot, never have and never will, your reputation sadly goes before you, but this proposal, even by Bradford Councils standards, is just madness.

Philip BUSSEY (Bradford, 2021-09-14)

#552

With a plethora of houses all over bradford, the loss of this green is painstaking.

William Emerson (Bradford, 2021-09-14)

#555

I am a local resident and highly object to this and fully support the reasons stated above.

Louise Everett (Shipley, 2021-09-14)

#561

I enjoy this land everyday with my dog, we need this green space !

Karen Fialdini (Bradford, 2021-09-14)

#563

I am signing this because builders are taking every last bit of green space in the area left. This is still a relatively decent area to live in but som many extra houses lately are creating a joined up giant housing estate. Also Westfield lane & surrounding areas are now become dangerous with more & more cars from all the extra houses. It’s only a matter of time before there is a serious accident.

karen Hammonds (Bradford, 2021-09-14)

#565

Road system is not capable to use by so many more residents. It is already hardly coping with the traffic. Sorrin Close/Kenstone Crescent is very bad junction. No space to improve it.

Jagtar Sahota (Bradford, 2021-09-14)

#567

I'm sick of more houses getting built. Not giving wildlife a chance to thrive. One of the reasons I moved away from Bradford was the fact that there so much concrete and not enough green spaces. Unfortunately, people would readily have more houses to get more incoming money than have something which increases wellbeing and helps wildlife.

Jonny Hird (Newark, 2021-09-14)

#571

I have grown up and lived in Idle, Bradford my whole life and love the area! I feel adding more houses will destroy the natural beauty of the village and the surrounding area.

Abigail Calvert (Bradford, 2021-09-15)

#573

Protecting green space. Not enough provision for schools doctors recent closures of fire station Plenty of brown filed sites.

Linda Calvert (Idle Bradford, 2021-09-15)

#577

The continual building of houses has impacted on the increased amount of traffic, loss of beautiful spaces, traffic noise and pollution. The impact on wildlife habitat has been devastating.

Pamela Riley (Bradford, 2021-09-15)

#578

One of the few greenspaces left, where I can walk and have a bit of freedom.
Very important to local people!

Blaze Fontaine (Bradford, 2021-09-15)

#580

There is not enough green space as it is without taking anymore

Bev Clarkson (BRADFORD, 2021-09-15)

#591

The area is been overdeveloped Traffic up and down green lane is horrendous. There should of been access for the last houses built from Westfield lane with no through access. Go elsewhere, Idle Thackley Greengates overdeveloped recently. Lack of amenities for anymore housing

Jonathan Clarke (Bradford, 2021-09-17)

#597

We need to keep some beautiful green space for the next generations!

Sarah Thompson (Bradford, 2021-09-17)

#598

Idle Moor should remain as green space for people to enjoy. The present infrastructure could not support further development in the area.

Helen Hodgson (Bradford, 2021-09-17)

#599

Please stop taking our green spaces.
If the government cared about people’s mental health, then they should stop turning our fields and nature into soulless brick boxes. Especially when those brick boxes don’t even have a decent garden.
Stop killing our wildlife and stop boxing us in.

Emma Marsh (Bradford, 2021-09-17)

#600

I have a house in Idle.
