The situation is unjust and needs to be rectified for the bar, the staff and the local music scene.

#404

This is very unfair towards Sowaar Bar and they should be allowed to trade as per their original intentions when the lease was entered into. So live music should continue!

Combrinck Lombard (Johannesburg, 2023-09-01)

#405

It is the best bar in pretoria and they are being treaded wrongly

The owner of the property made the mistake and is now bullying sowaar bar.

#409

I support Sowaar Bar as an establishment that creates the opportunity for South African musicians to make music to appreciative audiences and subsequently enables waiters, barmen/ladies and other staff members to earn an income for their families. Crippling a business aimed at promoting SA culture, the arts and talent should not be allowed.

Luna Paige (Stellenbosch, 2023-09-01)

#410

I'm signing because this country needs all the live music it can get and venues like this are where music is nurtured. No more live venues....no more music!

#411

I m signing because Sowaar bar is a place where we, as peoples, music lovers, south african and from overseas have an unforgettable experience through the live music provided and fellowship within people. We would llike to live and share again that moment as before. This life is so stressful that we need a place to feel again alive and happy. And Sowaar is one for these places

Sowaar Bar holds high sentiment to me, They supported my Small buisness to the fullest, also supports other small businesses they worked extra hard to make Sowaar Bar the place it is today, long nights hard at work when it was revamped, everything they do is for people to enjoy their days after having to deal with all the bad stuff out there in the world, a place where you are accepted no matter what or who you are, to just come sit down, chill, listen to some live music and enjoy good company... Give Tommy what he needs to keep this alive for the people, they are truly appreciated and doesn't deserve to be mistreated like this.

Zean Steenkamp (Centurion, 2023-09-02)

#449

As someone who only recently moved to to Pretoria (just down the road from sowaar) this place has made me feel at home in a new city. I’ve been able to meet new people, create new memories and feel at home in an unfamiliar environment. I unfortunately missed sowaar’ live music era and would LOVE to see that return as a huge component of live music. I see now that sowaar also caters to a live music vibe that is rare and hard to find in Pretoria these days and I would love to see that scene thrive once again in the place it belongs!

Bronwyn Pheiffer (Pretoria, 2023-09-02)

#450

We need more live venues. If this was a township there would be 10 taverns operating illegally. We only want to entertain and these laws don't make sense.

Jacques de Jager (Johannesburg, 2023-09-02)

#451

A great injustice is done to the business owner by the landlord. They are deviating from the original agreement and is basically bullying the business owner to do what they demand.

Maria Van Vuuren (Pretoria, 2023-09-02)

Kieron Patton (Johannesburg, 2023-09-02)

#470

I am a resident in the area and enjoyed the venue and the music from it,
The noise complaints cannot be true whatsoever as the venue has never let the music stay on too late at night.

I can for certain hear other bars in the area at night so why is the landlord picking on them?

Utter BS if you ask me

Craig Ehlers (Pretoria, 2023-09-02)

#479

Landlord must rezone and pay for losses, that landlord needs to feel what the hard working people are going through caused by their negligence.

I believe Sowaarbar has offered the community a place to escape the hastles of life and experience the tranquility that only music and good vibes can bring. I do not believe they should be penalized for a corporate institution's faults. The landlord knew the tipe of institution Sowaarbar is, since the bar started and should have known the restrictions and laws applicable to the property, from the word go.
