I took the job for the benefits - including health care for life - after giving the city 31 1/2 years, now the city wants to renege on that promise and make us pay???

NYC must keep its contractual promises to maintain the current healthcare insurance premium free. The proposed NYC MAP+ proposal is inferior in its coverage.

I worked 30 years for NYC and I am entitled to the decent Medical insurance that I have already paid for. We should have peace of mind in our retirement years and not second rate insurance.

It is low and disgraceful of our unions and the city we have devoted our service to for decades, lifetime careers, to seek financial compensation for budgetary failures off of the backs of retirees. The slimy manner in which this was initially attempted will forever be a stain on City hall and all those complicit, ESPECIALLY OUR UNIONS WHO HAVE AGREED TO SELL US DOWN THE RIVER. THIS WILL NOT BE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG AND FORGOTTEN—EVER.

Fredrick Betz (Massapequa, 2022-03-29)

Trashing retiree health-care into an Advantage plan is a stunning loss for working and middle class City workers. We gave up millions if $ in raises over many years for decent retiree health care.

Kathleen Barker (New York, 2022-03-29)

My life has been saved several times because my doctors didn’t have to wait for approval prior to operating. Also, all my doctors do not accept Medicare Advantage plans!

My Medicare with GHI secondary has allowed me to get the health care that my husband and I need at an affordable cost. We will be devastated if our care is eroded, that is, lower quality, higher cost care. Please save our current healthcare plan.

Lynn Gonen (Queens, 2022-03-29)

#6369

Retirees were promised good health care after retirement. They will not get it with MAPP, a for profit company. Retirees who gave their life’s blood for the city do not deserve this underhanded way of diminishing their health care.

I have paid into the Medicare system since I was 16. I want to maintain ALL of the benifits afforded through Medicare. I was promised this benifit when hired as a Transit Police Officer in 1980 and I want the city to keep their promise!

I do not want to make any changes to my original Medicare Coverage.

Ronald G Centaro (Hallandale Beach, 2022-03-30)

I don’t think they should change our existing health plan with us have any say. And to a plan that drops you when you need them the most. And out of state retirees have to change doctors. Many won’t take new insurance companies.

Victor Pagan (Deltona, FL, 2022-03-30)

We are entitled to receive the health care we were promised at retirement. We worked many years under less than stellar conditions, and were underpaid, because we were there for the children, the future of this country.

I am happy with my current plan. NYC Medicare Advantage Plus plan will increase my basic prescription drug costs almost 950% (this is not a typo). I currently pay $13 a month for my drug plan. With NYC Medicare Advantage Plus, my monthly premium will be $125 and I don't use that many prescriptions. And that doesn't include co-pays. Thanks.
