I need to keep Medicare as my primary, especially down here in Florida. If I had to pay almost 400 monthly for myself and husband out of my monthly $457.00 pension we would be struggling. I retired in 2016 after 14 years , with a $14.14 an hour wage and took a low paying job for the promise of lifetime health insurance. To change our plan now would be horrific for many retirees who are living on a fixed income. I signed a contract for this insurance and I don’t understand how NYC can Ignore us

Michele Sclafani (NY, 2022-03-30)

#6459

I am signing because I am appalled that New York City is pulling the rug out from under it's retirees. As teachers, we worked long and hard for less compensation than most of our area colleagues! My friend from Upstate NY has a greater pension than I have, with less years in and less degrees! We can not even compare to Long Island teacher pensions, we are far behind! And now... this!!! We do not want to lose our Medicare! You have plundered our retirement funds and can not add insult to injury by taking away our Medicare!!

Doreen McDonough (Manhasset, 2022-03-30)

#6461

I'm signing because I want to receive the benefits I was promised when I retired and not be penalized for living out of state.

Delia Walker (Augusta, 2022-03-30)

#6462

NYC retirees accepted lower wages and often no wages in exchange for good health benefits. They should not now be forced to accept an inferior MAP or face significant, if not impossible, financial burdens to retain what they now have. It is particularly cruel to do so to an older population when they are most vulnerable, battling an illness or the illness of a loved one.

Joyce Cloughly (Monroe Township, 2022-03-30)

#6468

I'm now disabled from the phisically taxing job title work I preformed for 31 years and had to retire because I could no longer

John Scanlon (Staten Island, 2022-03-30)

#6471

We gave our best years to the City. We had a contract guarantying our benefits while we worked and when we would retire. The City cannot pull the rug under us as we require more medical care.

Yves Mikol (New Paltz, 2022-03-31)

#6474

The proposed Advantage Plan is not being accepted here by both major hospitals or any of my 10+ doctors. Leaving me with no medical care. I went without raises during my service on the promise of my benefits and now they are being denied to me for an unproven and inferior health care program…one that is not available here in Clemmons, NC.

Luigi Scagnelli (Clemmons, 2022-03-31)

#6475

I want to keep my same Medicare plan, EBC-GHI Senior Care Plan.

Louis Becker (Monroe, 2022-03-31)

#6480

There was a contract between the UFT employees and the City of NY to provide certain benefits when the UFT member retired under their respective teirs. A contract cannot be broken unless both parties agree. The retirees have NOT broken their contract with the city, but the city cooses to break their end of the contract illegally. Stop playing games with our benefits and hold up your end of the contract with the retirees.

Doreen Palmieri (Bronx, 2022-03-31)

#6483

The Medicare Advantage Plus Plan will diminish my hard earned health care. The Mayor should be trying to increase our benefits.

William Hamilton (Port Charlotte, 2022-03-31)

#6484

I'm signing because I don't want to lose my choice of doctors I already have.

John Kaeser (Bonita Springs, Florida 34135, 2022-03-31)

#6487

I think it’s discussing what the city is trying to do to seniors on fixed incomes. Especially when retiring this wasn’t an issue or discussed with us.

Michele Yourman (Ringwood, 2022-04-01)

#6488

I'm signing because this glorious city needs to abide by the agreement made with the workers that kept it running .

Harold Costino (Staten Island, 2022-04-01)

#6491

I want to keep my original medical benefits

Michael Cuccurullo (New York, 2022-04-01)

#6493

I'm signing because I believe that the best solution to the current controversy would be an agreement between the unions, retirees, and the City that current retirees be offered a choice between enrolling in the Medicare Advantage Plus program or remaining in their current plan; i.e. premium-free original Medicare with Senior Care as their supplemental Medigap insurance. Continued litigation is not in anyone's interest, and the City should recognize that forcing retirees to change the health insurance plan they were promised at the time of retirement, and have relied on for many years, is morally and legally objectionable.

Ann Haas (North Kingstown, 2022-04-01)

#6495

Because we were promised the Medicare we retired with for the rest of our lives and our unions betrayed us by not protecting our health benefits

John Rigolini (Titusville, 2022-04-01)

#6496

I do not want to change to the plan of NYC Medicare Advantage Plus Plan. Not many doctors accept this plan. I am happy with what I have. Don't fix it if it ain't broken!!!

Adrian Gorcinski (Bluffton, 2022-04-02)

#6502

I cant afford changes to my NYC Retirees health plan if I want to keep the traditional MEDICARE plan that II signed up with when I retired from Cuny Hunter College in 2010. I would have to pay $191 monthly which I can't afford on my NYC pension of of $16,600 yearly.

We can avoid being shortchanged in the future. We need best care without red tape; waiting for approvals that block getting care expedited is out of the question, as an example.

Linda Ferro (NY, 2022-04-02)

#6515

On my fixed income I cannot afford to opt out and I worked and paid for this medical insurance and medicare my whole career. We deserve this quality of care in our retirement.

Justine Rosado (Brooklyn, 2022-04-02)

#6517

I'm signing because I am asking Mayor Adams NOT to appeal Judge Frank's decision made on March 3, 2022 in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.

Andrea Miranda (Rego Park, 2022-04-02)

I am now a widow because my former husband, a retired NYPD officer died of 9/11 cancer seven months ago. Not only did I lose his coverage I am now being penalized for using my own, hard-earned UFT coverage. Stop the nonsense and focus on the good people that once made this city great.

#6579

I worked and contributed my whole career and don’t want to change my coverage in the future.

#6586

It is unfair to force retirees to pay for their medical coverage because a flawed alternative was presented to them

Clifford Popel (Brooklyn, 2022-04-03)

#6596

I worked 45 years for the City with the understanding that I would have my choice of medical insurance when I retired. This is now a bait and switch played on NYC retirees that should not be allowed. If the City wants to change the medical insurance “program” for future retirees, that should be a policy known and applied to future NYC employees.

James Esposito (Howard Beach, 2022-04-03)

#6597

I like the plan I have.

Marie Arcabascio (Bayville, 2022-04-03)
