We are being ripped off again

(Johannesburg, 2020-03-06)

#609

The fees annually are just too exorbitant

(Gauteng, 2020-03-06)

#621

I think we are being ripped off. What justifies the amount we are paying? What does the HPCSA actually do for us?

(Centurion, 2020-03-06)

#622

The fee is ridiculous.

(Durban, 2020-03-06)

#625

I am having difficulty to pay this amount in these challenging financial times.

(George, 2020-03-06)

#629

Fees are too high

(Pretoria, 2020-03-06)

#630

I feel the fees are not in line with other comparable disciplines such as physiotherapy. I do feel however that the statement "However, if this petition is not accepted, Optometrists will continue to feel abused by the controversially ineffective healthcare system set in place in our country" is unfortunate.

#633

The fees are unconfortably high

(Cape Town, 2020-03-06)

#636

We deserve to pay rate that matches our salary scale

(East london, 2020-03-06)

#639

The fees are too high especially for newly qualified optoms that are still looking for employment.

(Johannesburg, 2020-03-06)

#642

Fees are to high for the Tilte of not bening as doctor.

(Johannesburg, 2020-03-06)

#644

To reduce the annual fees for Optometrist, to an appropriate rate for our income bracket.

(Johannesburg, 2020-03-06)

#646

Pulane

(Secunda, 2020-03-06)

#648

I can’t afford the fees, the amount is not justified.

(Johannesburg, 2020-03-06)

#651

Highest membership fee charged for optometrist of all primary healthcare providers, but why?

(Cape Town, 2020-03-07)

#659

It’s too much.

(George, 2020-03-08)

#666

The amount is too much when you compare to the salary that we get.

(Johannesburg, 2020-03-09)

#671

My salary per month, as a part time locum, is minimal. I cannot afford the same fees as a Doctor or a specialist. I feel as students we were seen or rated as the same as fisiotherapists and Occupational therapists. We at least need to pay the same fees as them, and not more!

(Stellenbosch, 2020-03-10)

#672

An almost 20% increase in annual fees from last year to this is inexplicable. This is very obviously blatant exploitation.

(Johamnesburg, 2020-03-10)

#675

I believe our fees are too high

(Durban, 2020-03-10)

#676

I am an Optometrist & agree that Optometrists should not be charged this much by HPCSA while other primary practitioners are paying way less.

(Durban, 2020-03-11)

#677

Fees are not appropriately calculated! How can we pay the same as dentists and drs who def make much more

(Jhb, 2020-03-11)

#681

I think that Optometrists are charged a lot of fees by HPCSA in comparison to other primary practitioners, being in the same ranks as Dentists and GPs means we get the same income and that is not true. Optometrists are paid way less

(DURBAN, 2020-03-12)

#683

It is ridiculously high, I work in a public hospital and we are so under paid, we cannot afford to pay this price!

(Durban, 2020-03-12)

#684

I strongly agree

(Durban, 2020-03-12)

#686

The raise in fees are very high.

(Durban, 2020-03-12)

#687

fees are too exorbitant need to fall

(pietermaritzburg, 2020-03-12)

#688

Hmmm, I say this with all due respect, I feel it is really unfair that us as Optometrists have to pay one of the highest in professional fees, compared to other health/medical(Primary) practitioners. As well as feel we taken lightly and have to accept this in injustice of higher fees with marginly steeper price hikes each and every year.

(Johannesburg, 2020-03-12)

#690

The registration fee is too high and as an optometrist in the public health where we are not paid the same as other supplementary health professionals who are being paid rural allowances and scare scarce skills allowances.

(Polokwa, 2020-03-13)

#695

I am also a doctor and I am not allowed to practice as an optometrist, yet I have to pay these ridiculous fees

(Durban, 2020-03-18)

#705

I want the annual hpcsa fees to drop

(Durban, 2020-04-03)

#706

Clinical optometrist running a low income community community practice & fees unaffordable for personal income

(BLOEMFONTEIN, 2020-04-05)

#709

The Fees are too high and keep increasing
