I want serrie

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#606

I wasted too much time and effort to have Serrie canceled

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#607

My son worked very hard to take part in this competition.

(Randburg, 2017-05-18)

#609

I love serrie and I'm part of it

(Pretoria Hatfield, 2017-05-18)

#610

Serrie is fun and brings some spirit to tuks.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#616

I am apart of 2017 Serrie and I know how much time and effort it took. I love Serrie and I love that it brings people together for fun and laughter

(Potchefstroom, 2017-05-18)

#618

The decision to cancel Serrie is sweeping the problem under the rug, it is not dealing with it.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#624

It is our tradition of many years and we are not going to let some men without manners ruiin our tradition!

(Rustenburg, 2017-05-18)

#625

Serrie took a lot of hard work, preparation, time and money. It is unfair towards the people that did not even notice the signs. I only saw "awesome!" "Go girls!" "Finals for you!" Take away the signs but don't take away serrie!!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#627

Serrie is tradition and the whole situastion is one sided

(Gauteng, 2017-05-18)

#631

Tuks and especially Tuks res do not have a rape culture. If you want to stop rape in South Africa start with stopping rape, full stop. If you want stop serrie just say you don't like serrie don't hide behind "rape culture" accusations that are inaccurate and misleading to people outside serrie.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#636

Serrie must come back!!!!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#642

Because tuks cant just sweep everything under a carpet.

(Gauteng, 2017-05-18)

#644

Serrie is my heart

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#647

I want to perform

(pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#648

I'm signing because residence traditions are being taken away...

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#655

Serrie bring different cultures together. Lot of money spend already as well as time. Why would they take tradition away.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#657

This is not what serrie is about. Serrie is about getting to know people, having fun and a whole lot of hard work!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#662

I want to bring Serrie back! We've lost too many traditions to the weak willed and the narrow minded

(Hatfield, 2017-05-18)

#664

Serrie means EVERYTHING!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#666

The girls resses also did the same with the guys not fair dropping everything..

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#668

I'm signing because... i want serrie back.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#669

I believe Serrie is an important cultural event that brings people together and teaches discipline and perseverance.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#676

My yoghurt has more culture than TUKs right now! #BringBackSerrie

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#677

You are punishing the wrong people for what happened at prelims

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#679

We as serrie participants worked unexplainably hard. We practiced atleast four times a week for three months non stop. For what? For the event to get cancelled? Serrie is the most important ress activity, it brings us as a residence together, it teaches us to work together and to push through when things gets tough. If that's going to be taken away, how are people living in residences get to know each other, form a bond? Serrie was the one thing that kept us going. Please try to give us our finals back. We worked way to hard to get where we are. An NO SERRIE DOES NOT ENCOURAGE RAPE!!! I do not agree what gets written on the notes, but it's always been there. If it was such a big deal they must have said something befor prelims. And its not the serrie participants that writes those notes, it is the spectators.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#682

#Bring_Back_Serrie must rise!!!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#684

Tradition should prevail

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#688

The students practiced for weeks and it is such a highlight for them!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#690

I feel serrie is a great way to bring people together. We shouldn't get rid of yet another tradition

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#691

Serrie must go on

(Sasolburg, 2017-05-18)

#697

It's wrong to punish the performers for something the spectators did.

(Springs, 2017-05-18)

#698

Its a student culture that is positive for the university

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#699

Serrie was cancelled because of the crowd. Do not punish the participants and take away this amazing experience from them because of something they had no control over!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#702

Cancelling Serrie doesn't help anyone. Rather let those that worked so hard reap the benefits, and let those who gave prelims a bad name explain themselves. Otherwise res culture is pretty much over.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#706

This is wrong serrie is such a big part of res and is a lot of peoples reasons for going into res, you can't take something like that away!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#708

For three months we spent so much time and effort into serrie , we painted long hours for serrie reception ,put our hearts souls and everything we had into prelims and reception. People are writing sick tests because of serrie and people booked flights. We were so proud of our res that put in all we had into serrie , it was such a bonding experience within the house and it really brought us together like a res should.

(Durban, 2017-05-18)

#711

Serrie has been going on for years without any issues. Hard work and hours have gone into working towards this.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#713

I want serrie back!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#718

Serrie is important to me. And to everyone who has put all those hours into practise. Bring back serrie!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#724

By cancelling Finals you are only punishing the performers (who have put their hearts, souls, time and money into prep in the hopes of making it to finals) and NOT those who held up the signs.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#729

So much time and effort for nothing!
It brings unity to a res.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#730

There is too much work and hours put into this serrie to just cancel it.

(Johannesburg, 2017-05-18)

#733

I don't want serrie to be cancelled

(Polokwane, 2017-05-18)

#736

My friend worked so hard for this, why should she be punished!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#737

Im in serrie

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#740

Serrie is one of my favorites activities in res where everyone can participate. It is an activity where different cultures are represented and where a res as a whole work together. This is something unique about our university. We spend a lot of money and time to produce this serrie. We failed subjects for this, but we did it for our res!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#743

Its res tradition

(Durban, 2017-05-18)

#746

Injustice towards students

(Louis Trichardt, 2017-05-18)

#757

It's the right thing to do

(Rustenburg, 2017-05-18)

#759

Serrie is more than just doing some crazy moves to a few songs it's about bringing people together ,it's about unity and most of all makes us as students happy!

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#767

I am doing serrie and it is an important tradition to all traditional residences of University of Pretoria. We also sacrificed our time to study into putting the hours for serrie practice to be a success. Our degrees were on go slow just to make a success out of serrie

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#772

I've participated in serrie before and it truly is hard work, fun and an opportunity to bond with fellow res members and reses. The rumours I've heard say that it was cancelled due to the rape culture surrounding it. i can personally attest to the lack of rape culture surrounding the event. Whatever caused people to think there is such a rape culture surrounding such should be banned, not the event itself.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#773

It is the heart of our res. I have made such strong bonds with my fellows that I now consider them family.

(Gaulteng, 2017-05-18)

#775

Because my best friends go to TUKS and all I've heard about is the serrie finals they have been working on, and they bloody amazing and deserve the finals.

(Durban, 2017-05-18)

#781

It is part of Tuks traditions and the students worked very hard with a lot of money spent.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#782

Necessary

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#784

Serrie is always fun. I enjoy watching it just as much as competing in serrie. It should stay!!!

(Gauteng, 2017-05-18)

#787

I am a first year who will now not experience one of the most legendary events on tuks has to offer

(Hatfield, 2017-05-18)

#793

I am from Zimbabwe and for me this was something I loved to take part in as it was different and something you would get to look forward to putting all your hard work into to improve and make yourself better... A place where academics didn't matter for at least 2 hours. It brought people together to work as a team and make each other better while having fun. It means a lot to people even though many might not say that out loud.

(Pretoria, 2017-05-18)

#796

Dont steal a cultural event

(Midrand, 2017-05-18)

#797

Zinnia residence has a message that is STRONG. It it there to help people in time of need. Let us perform. Let us show you how Serrie can give a message how it shows the commitment of so many girls! Bring back Serrie. Don't take away what is rightfully to the students of the University of Pretoria.

(Gauteng, 2017-05-18)
