Exceptions are made for other faiths for religious holidays so I think exceptions should be made for the Islamic faith too. :-)

Heres a thought, why can't we just get the electricity that we paid for?

Too much hardship at our home durind these ridiculous hours. Have to be awake extra early in the morning and prepare early in the afternoon and the meals are cold at breaking fast times.

During the month of Ramadan it would courteous if City Power took into consideration that Muslims fast During this month and have a very early breakfast between 3am and 4.45am and we break fast in the evening by 6.30pm and that load shedding should be avoided during these times for this month at the least.

Our area has a lot of trips and outages. We usually without power for sometime 12 hours because of trips. Something happened with our cables at 2am this morning. It’s now 2pm still no electricity.

As we do not eat and drink the entire day during our compulsory fasting and additional prayers .. We require electricity between 3.00am and 5. 30am
And in the afternoon from 4pm to 10pm for preparations and prayers

I am signing this petition, because it is the month of Ramadan for the Muslims or South Africa, snd when I say suspend the load shedding I am speaking for and on behalf of all the Muslim families who need the power to be on in order to start our fast and break our fast in the evenings.

Please suspend load shedding and assist thr Muslim community in SA

We are observing an important religious event ie Ramadaan. Loadshedding will have a negative impact on the muslim community and will not allow us to fulfill our religious obligations. Loadshedding must be suspended unti 14 April 2024

Refia Sayed (Durban, 2024-03-14)
