If Norwegian were to cease operations, there would be only two major airlines based in Scandinavia linking the region to Europe and beyond. Air travel would become unaffordable for many people. Also Norwegian has a significant presence in the U.K. which helps keep air travel affordable there as well. Norwegian Airlines employs many flight crews (and ground staff) throughout Scandinavia and the U.K. for good wages and those flight crews pay as much taxes as their counterparts at SAS, Finnair, British, Virgin Atlantic and other European airlines. Norwegian’s businesses model is sound, unfortunately they have been the victims of circumstances beyond their control. Please give them equal and fair treatment, the same as you give their competitors. I have many colleagues who are pilots and technical engineers for Norwegian that are EU and or Scandinavian citizens who have worked very hard to obtain good jobs at Norwegian. Not everyone can work for SAS, Finnair, BA, and Virgin Atlantic. Please consider Norwegian Airlines employees as well in these difficult times.

The whole of the aviation industry need support, just supporting state owned airlines will result in the long run in lack of competition and these airlines that have been supported taking advantage. In short the tax payer will pay to keep an airline flying that will then charge them more for tickets because it can.
