SIMON SAYS THE SOONER THE BETTER

This petition is for the attention of Minister Simon Coveney to change the laws on:-

1. Unregistered dog breeding,

All owners to be registered, their premises registered, their pets registered and a seperate club for cross breeds set up similar to the IKC (Irish Kennel Club) with breeding restricted to one litter per bitch. As an incentive for not breeding a cross breed litter a discount on neutering the dog or bitch.

 

2. Stop dog licences have a registration number instead and for every dog owner to be law in joining the new club.

If some people own four dogs/bitches they have to spend so much to get each one a licence, hence so many people haven't got licences. if it cost for example E25 per year to join the club, you can register as many dogs as you want.

Funds generated from membership will run the new club and also be divided to all registered rescues.

 

3. Severe penalties for dog baiting/fighting and dog/pet abuse.

We can't tolerate any further abuse on our countries pets. The nation as a whole has had enough. We need to see ACTION.

 

4. More funding for owners towards neutering.

Owners in receipt of social welfare to get help in all veterinary practices throughout Ireland.
