Take away the parking spaces on Newton Road
The parking spaces on Newton Road are causing unnecessary traffic congestion throughout the day. (Newton Road runs between Symonds Street and the motorway)
We are asking for the parking spots to be removed permanently to be in line with the rest of this arterial route running from Khyber Pass to Ponsonby Road.
As the number of these spots are low (approx 10) and are short term parks (most 30 minutes), they can be easily relocated, replaced or embedded behind the curb line.
The intended outcome is to have smooth running traffic throughout the day.
