Formal Objection to Unfair Sewerage Charges for Residents of Ward 125

Dear Municipal Manager,

We, the undersigned residents of Patlyn, Rispark, Olifantsvlei, Eikenhof, and surrounding areas within COJ Ward 125, write to formally object to the sewerage charges being levied upon us by the City of Johannesburg. We are being unfairly charged for sewerage services despite the fact that we are not connected to the Johannesburg Water sewerage system, nor does such a facility exist in our area.

We demand the following actions be taken immediately: Immediate Cessation of Unfair Charges: The City of Johannesburg must cease all sewerage charges for households in our area with immediate effect. These charges are unjust as we do not receive the sewerage services for which we are being billed. Credit for Unfair Charges: All households that have been unfairly subjected to these charges must be credited in full for the amounts paid. This includes a thorough review of past billing and prompt reimbursement where necessary. We trust that the City of Johannesburg will address this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves. Continued billing for services not rendered constitutes a breach of trust and could lead to further action by the community.
