Traffic lights between Barton Road & the A580 Lancaster Road

We need to save the lives of people ,by just putting in a set of TRAFFIC LIGHT that not much to ask to save lives,please

I'm so sorry for your loss my heart goes out to both families. I agree there should be lights here its a junction I try to avoid if possible it's impossible to gain enough speed to cross over 3 lanes if your turning onto Lancaster Rd and when idiots are flying down there you don't stand a chance. Petition signed and shared I hope it gets something done. X

I live by this junction. Have to take my life in to my own hands every day using this section of road. It's like Russian roulette at times! So many drivers take such stupid risks and do erratic / unsafe manoeuvres it's unbelievable! !

Would it not be more sensible to close the end of Barton Road for joining and off going traffic?
Surely it's not a lot of inconvenience to drive 1/2 mile in either direction to join the road at already safe junctions rather than add more traffic calming to an already ridiculously slow duel carriageway?
Thoughts to the family's involved though. Extremely tragic.

This is so important! As well as lights I think a speed camera as you come round the bend towards Barton road would slow people down further.

Used to live on Lancaster road and the junction is aweful and needs safer crossings as well as traffic lights for safety of othes

More speed cameras and police need to patrol the east lancs.. too many speeding over 40mph and intimidating drivers.

Traffic lights need putting their ASAP it's a very dangerous junction. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family's who have lost their loved ones.

I as an HGV driver totally agree. I use Barton road every morning to get to work in Trafford park and this is a bad blind bend. In order to get a full view of on coming traffic you must edge forward which is dangerous. I 100% back this potition. The roads must be made safer.

Those vile scumbags that took two lives and have torn apart so many more will walk away with their lives intact. The LEAST we can do is take action to make the road safer!!

Traffic lights would make drivers safer there, when I'm at that junction in always on edge, because you can't judge how fast the on coming cars are going, thanks
