#1512015-05-07 11:15I have seen the site and it is very visible from the road. The pitches they are constructing seem to be very close together allowing little or no privacy for the occupants and if they are allowed to stay for up to 11 months it is likely to become more like a shanty town that a few holiday caravans enjoying the quiet beauty of the valley. |

#1552015-05-08 09:58This valley is beautiful and needs to remain so. A caravan of this capacity and permanency will be detrimental to the whole valley. |

#1572015-05-10 08:15Insufficient planning consideration has been given to this project, which will be prone to flooding and unprotected sewage |

#1582015-05-10 14:32When the Nailbourne floods, it takes all the effluent from cesspits down the valley. Another 45 homes with no mains drainage will add to the difficulties currently experienced by the Vineyard and attached Care Home |

#1592015-05-11 08:48Due to the flood risk in this area - plans need to be given careful consideration. |

#1602015-05-11 20:26I sighned this petition because I believe "areas of outstanding natura beauty" should be kept that way. We purposely moved to this area to enjoy it and help preserve it. By opposing this caravan site hopefully that's what I'm doing. |

#1612015-05-12 23:46Tourist wishing to view the AONB without the eyesore of a residential caravan site right next to the public footpath through the area. |

#1622015-05-13 04:09These plans are out of keeping with the area, the Elham valley is an area of natural beauty with limited infrastructure. The valley has endured serious floods in the last 12 months and to allow this development to happen on the floodplain would be bad news for those staying in the caravan park. |

#1632015-05-14 20:19How can this be allowed in this area - surely this stretch of countryside should be heavily protected? |

#1642015-05-14 20:21How can Shepway even think about approving these plans in an area of outstanding natural beauty? |
Guest |
#1652015-05-15 08:33the AONB needs proper controls - there are ample more suitable places |

#1662015-05-15 08:55I'm a concerned resident and wish to protect an AONB. I have no objection to a small grassed camp / touring caravan, site, but this consitutes over-developement. I am appalled that Shepway granted permission - they refused our very discrete rear extension because of 10cm! |

#1692015-05-22 19:52The Elham country side is a stunning location. why let it get spoiled. Let this go a head and it will also effect every person in Elham and the Schools, and this will also have a colossal effect on Our Children and their Education. |

#1702015-05-24 16:40In order to protect this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty it is important that local residents are extra alert to, and oppose, the back-door attempts at housing development. This is one such, and would set a precedent which may become difficult to reverse. |

#171 Elham Valley Caravan Park!2015-05-26 15:30Other areas of outstanding natural beauty are having their power pylons relocated underground so that their countryside remains beautiful and unspoiled. We get to aquire additional blots on our beautiful landscape. Why? Whatever the weather when I travel down the Valley Road, the beautiful scenery always lifts my spirits and is truly food for the soul in these stressful times. No permanent Caravan site should be allowed to spoil that. Shame on Shepway Council. |
