#12015-05-26 00:13I signed this petition because the position of physiotherapists in assessment, diagnosing and treatment of patients has been greatly reduced. |

#22015-05-26 11:40The healthcare system in South Africa put physiotherapists at the bottom, no recognition at all which is very unfair and frustrating. |

#42015-05-26 19:06Its ridiculous that physiotherapists get paid the SAME salary as professionals with a diploma!!! |

#62015-05-27 06:28I am absolutely unhappy with how physios are being treated. Pharmacists in government passed with a B.Pharm, nurses and radiographers with diplomas, we render after hour services. I checked all university admission requirements. We are third highest. First Mbchb then dentists, then us. Everyone knows how intense our curriculum is. We also save lives and better yet we prevent patients from returning as an Inpatient and we prevent disability! Furthermore we are the pain experts! That is why they don't want to give us our prescription rights because they know it will mean higher salaries. Give us what is due to us!!! |

#82015-05-27 07:59Why did you sign this petition? I am a physiotherapist working in the public sector and it is unacceptable that other professions with the same or even less qualifications are being renumerated at salary levels well above that of our own profession. These are even professional people with less years of experience as well professions that render no after hours services whatsoever! I therefore fully agree with this petition and support the goal thereof. |

#92015-05-27 10:22All of the above comments are valid and has a detrimental effect on the profession especially post OSD. |

#102015-05-27 16:42Because I have a daughter who's a physio at a government hospital in gauteng and the remuneration received in comparison to the work performed is absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!! |

#122015-05-27 18:01Its true everything u saying everyone with even those with no degree demands higher salaries but nobody thinks of us.We have to study to be able to practise our profession then our salary is so little that we cannot afford a house and a car. |

#132015-05-27 21:09people who are not physios would support this if the article gave more facts. Truthfully I don't know the stats and would live to so it's not just a favour when/ if i ask other people to sign but an informed discussion |

#172015-05-28 17:47How this gets as many people to support and be taken to relevant departments. We truly bend our backs backward and we demand to be compensated and recognized |

#192015-05-29 08:2529 May A long time coming hope we persist and follow through as we often complain, make a small fuss and then dont follow through. |

#202015-05-29 12:28I'm a final year physio student and the amount of work and hours put in is really not reflected in the amount physio's get paid. It's not always about the money, as for many it's about the passion but we deserve to be treated equally with those who are on the same qualification level! Let's stand together!! |

#252015-05-30 19:03Physiotherapists are undermined and pushed to the side in South Africa. We work very hard and mostly more than others, but our salaries have nothing to show for it. Its not fair how we're treated, we getting peanuts, and its even worse in Limpopo (as you're not allowed to locum when you work in government hospitals). I'm currently doing my commserv this year, but I'm already considering leaving the profession, but because of bursary obligations, I have to serve them for 4 years then I'm out!!! I've always been passionate about what I do and I love my patients, but passion won't put food on the table. |
