#1262015-07-23 12:07I rode at those Stables and I believe that what they want to build will be another burden to Durban ratepayers!! People who are trying to make an honest living will loose their source of income, along g with the faithful staff employed at the stables and the beautiful horses!!!!! |

#1282015-07-23 12:31I think it is important to have the stables there so that children from the area have access to riding on their doorstop instead of having to go miles away for this leisure activity |

#1302015-07-23 12:52I've been going to The Stables since I was a young girl and it holds a special place in my heart. I can't imagine it not being there. The Stables is so diverse and has something for everyone. Please don't demolish it. |

#1312015-07-23 13:17The City and it's residents need the Stables for recreation !! Plus the SAPS horse unit needs a home close to the City !! |

#1322015-07-23 13:24Because E'Thekwini had no right to do this and my grandson attends riding lessons there, which have given him some of his happiest moments and I'm sure this applies to many other children |

#1332015-07-23 13:32this is an Historic part of Durban's past , and Durban's history . It should remain open and become a living tribute to Horse Racing in Natal ( KZN ) |

#1342015-07-23 13:38It is important that the stables in Durban are kept for the horses, employees and the people and children that benefit from this activity. It is too far for many Durbanites to travel out of the area to enjoy this sport and it has a valid history!! |

#1352015-07-23 13:52Because the manner in which the city has handled this issue goes against the constitutional right of the people. |

#1362015-07-23 13:55I too learnt to ride here ! Lets be broad minded and preserve the city's history. Not all progress is good - this would be destructive - NOT progress ! |

#1372015-07-23 13:56Because the city council can easily find other land for what they need. Horse riding should not have to be sacrificed for other sports. |

#1392015-07-23 14:29Because I feel that the government should ensure that establishments like this one should be funded so that they can continue operating. They provide jobs and offer a valuable service to the community |

#1422015-07-23 14:50I personally think there's enough sportsfields, footbal and rugby fieds. Why support only one sport and close down stables that's been going for so many years ? Why add to poverty to leave people unemployed ? Why take animals lifes for football ? The government ( anc, da, ect ) is running this country down the drain. This country did just fine with 2010 worldcup without closing down the stables at new market |

#1432015-07-23 14:52To keep a bit of Durban's history intact, and continue to allow kids from all sectors to enjoy the horses that make this their home, plus save the grooms jobs.. |

#1442015-07-23 14:54Please! There are riders like me that go to Newmarket stables and have big dreams! I am one of the 100 pupils and I have been crying non stop since I am young. I do not want to mention my age. But please, it's for the people, their dreams, the world heritage site and most importantly, THE HORSES!!!! Just please, lord in heaven above and I beg for you to keep this stables.. ♥️ |

#1472015-07-23 15:21It is disgraceful that we tax payers subsidise the current Moses stadium which is rarely in use. To take away a part of Durban historic stables! |

#1482015-07-23 16:20Children who live in cities loose out so much on farm life and nature and here in the middle of Durban was a little piece of heaven where hurting children could go and destress. Horses are excellent for children of all ages. |

#1492015-07-23 16:33It's been around for as long as we know it's a landmark in Durban it is what makes Durban markets.... |

#1502015-07-23 16:33No comment was provided on what is planned for the area petitioned by the municipality but if the ANC municipalities, countrywide, are anything to go by - if the "money trail" is followed it would NOT be surprising in the least to find a link containing corruption of some kind or favour. |
