Madibeng municipality is incapable of managing this municipality and have been under administration for a number of years. This area have huge potential for tourism but Madibeng can't even provide the basic services. It is appauling.

I have been a resident of this area for 42 years.Ever since the management of this municipality was linked up with Brits- THE MADIBENG COUNCIL - THERE HAS BEEN A RADICAL DECLINE IN THE UPKEEP!!! of our towns on the southern side of the Magalies Range.On the other hand huge developments have been taking place to the North of Brits and here in and around Brits there has also been vast declines in service and upkeep of the town.I am of the opinion that if we as residents of the Hartbeepoortdam area manage our own area it would be vastly improved and would benefit the greater area around the dam.It would also be much easier to solve the polution problems upstream from the dam seeing that the area will now be part of Gauteng.

I signed this petition becasue I believe that the people who actually live in Harties will do a far better job of managing their own affairs and not squander the municipal money on frivolous travel,parties, cars and other corruptive activities. I also believe that the ecology of the area, i.e water, flora and fauna will be far better looked after and not plundered as it is now. I also believe that maintenance will be a top priority which it is not under the current administration. Nothing could be worse than being managed by Madibeng!!
