#282015-10-25 23:28When I'm stuck in bed (most of the time) I become suicidal. I'm a member of several ME and FM support groups and reading other people's comments reduces my isolation and helps me to live another day, all via my iPad in bed, a window on the world, which I've been unable to be a part of for 10 yrs. |

#292015-10-25 23:50Any fool knows that it is easy enough to prop your tablet on a pillow on your tummy, while laying in bed, and type with one finger whilst resting your wrist on said pillow or your own tummy... If you've done it,like I do every day, you know it IS possible... IF they can find me a full time job while laying in bed with my tablet propped up, that accepts I can only type for a short while and then need to rest or sleep...I AM your lady..:) |

#302015-10-25 23:50Just because you can look at stuff, scroll a mousewheel and occasionally click on things for short periods of time doesn't mean you are capable of full time employment. There are many other factors and many kinds of disabling symptom. |

#312015-10-25 23:59Because I'm on DLA and use Facebook to keep in contact with my friends around the world that I am not physically able to visit. |

#322015-10-26 00:06Basically I felt the need to sign this petition due to the fact I am both in receipt of DLA & ESA (Support group) and am a member of various health & disability support groups on Facebook..and they are indeed my "window to the world, and old and new friends, without whom I would be isolated from "normal" life, due to my disabilities -which include agoraphobia- plus the fact my carer has issues of her own (which includes social anxiety) ...and the thought that my income could be withdrawn due to my use of Facebook, I find scary.. |

#332015-10-26 00:17because Facebook may only be the sick persons way of communicating with people. If they have physical or mental conditions where they cant leave the house. It is easy to use by phone or computer. You dont have to be the brain of Britain to use it.A child could use it. |

#34 agoraphobia sufferer2015-10-26 01:43i suffer from agoraphobia and other mental health issues and physical problems i can not leave the house often let alone work i can count on one hand the times ive been able to go out over the road to the shop with a carer this year but i do use facebook it is really my only link to the outside world and to say i wouldnt be allowed my financial assistance because of this is a joke if i couldnt socialise on here my conditions would totally become worse as id be alone and shut off from the world this is a horrible thing to do to people like us |

#352015-10-26 01:56Because fb has been my lifeline. It connects me with the outside world. I can chat to friends around the world when pain stops me from sleeping. It keeps my brain in condition rather than watching tv constantly. I get pleasure from seeing and swapping photographs of family and friends. |

#372015-10-26 02:54Facebook is a vital lifeline for many chronically ill and disabled people who are not fit to work - it is quite ridiculous that the use of a resource that can be used for a few minutes at a time, that requires little concentration and can be accessed from any position on a mobile device could be considered someone who does not need PIP. |

#382015-10-26 04:39I run a support group on Facebook and I try to help other sufferers ..lying in bed day after day ..it helps me to keep sane...however I need spell check to fix all my words because I can't remember how to spell due to fog ..some days I can just about lift one finger to type so if that counts God LOVE the world it's getting worse .... |

#392015-10-26 07:28Facebook is a lifeline into what remnant of my life remains due to my pain and disabilities, to deny that would be cruel in the extreme, and tantamount to torture as I would lose almost ALL contact with people. |

#402015-10-26 07:34I signed because I am mostly housebound. The internet is my main contact with the outside world. Without it I would of gone mad by now. |

#412015-10-26 07:38For many of us who suffer with social anxiety & chronic fatigue, social media is a valuable way to connect with others. Excluding people with disabilities from using it will lead to further isolation. |

#422015-10-26 07:48I am still on dla .. waiting for the dreaded change over, Facebook is the only way I can stay in touch with people, it helped me greatly when my wife had to go to the hospital, I was talking with a friend when I had a bad angina attack, wasn't I glad I was in touch with someone. |

#442015-10-26 09:26Facebook is my saviour I can comic ate with friends and family across the world and the support groups I am in are my lifesaver |

#452015-10-26 09:35I cannot believe there is any justification for linking use of Facebook to an ability to work. It's bizarre and inconceivable. |

#462015-10-26 10:14The tribunal overstepped and FB is not a reason to refuse help. It is for many peopkle their only contact with the outside world and a great source of information. The groups I am a member of make a difference because they take the long hours of research out of what I need to know about DWP?atos and tribunlas, after all, they keep getting it wrong and I have to defend myself against the onslaught of abuse and benefit denial |

#472015-10-26 11:06Facebook for many housebound people maybe there only way to socialise! |
Guest |
#502015-10-26 11:35It is so much easier to use Facebook once you have set up an account and made a few friends and gets easier all the time to the point that it takes much less effort than to wash your hair even for abled bodied people. |
