#1262016-01-04 17:08Why did you sign this petition?because the information shared is true and straight forward due to the fact that social workers deal with difficult situation but they are earning a little money with too much work.....so social workers deserve to earn too much compares to too much work they are doing |

#1292016-01-05 03:50I'm a proffessional Social Worker placed in a very deep rural area stricken by poverty. I work underpressure, serving my people with Humility. The reason why is because the Minister is not aware and don't care about about us Social Workers. Insteas She praises SASSA over us. She humiliate us even on public calling us names. We demand respect, better salaries, incentives to those working in rural areas like me. I travel almost 2and half hour to reach my area of operation conducting Home visits , driving in a very bad n critical roads to reach my people. How can I perform my duties effectively after driving more than an hour to reach the place? It is not fair. We demand Rural allowance and Danger allowance so as to be easier for Social Workers like me to perform their duties with love. I thank You. |

#1302016-01-05 04:08Actually we should go to universities and ask students to sign. This profession is undermined. Only us will restore its dignity. |

#1382016-01-23 13:25I want better recognition of social workers.I was hurt yesterday I saw an advert for vacancy on www.dpsa.co.za.a social worker's salary was R193000pa while a registered counselli's salary was R435000pa.we all have 4year degrees, and I know as a matter of fact from experience that social workers are more qualified and valuable than counsellors. |

#1412016-02-09 11:55The low salaries Social Workers receive is a disgrace! I feel ashamed of the entry level salaries especially...the reason why so many potential SW's are demotivated to qualify themselves as SW's, a profession so much needed to advocate for social justice and human rights for needy and.vulnerable people in SA. I am a proud SW for the past 35 years and I am not recognized all my working years of experience by the current dept I am working at. But even this does not discourage my passion or commitment for my profession. I strongly support this petition! |

#1432016-05-20 12:47Social workers starting salary should be from 250 000 , considering that they are professionals with four years degree. For improving service delivery within our communities goverment should provide resources and office space. Social workers should be taken seriously so that the abuses to children , elderly and disabilities are handled effectively with no limitations. |

#1452016-05-20 13:07Why did you sign this petition? I want change to our profession. I am a social worker and I work hard. our profession must also be recognised like other professions, four years obtaining a degree is too much. let's regain the respect for the profession, salary entry level to start with... |

#146 Re:2016-05-21 07:41we sharing an office been 5 where i am working. We clean our office because we do not have a cleaner. We catch a taxi and travel 8km to go book for goverment vehicle. Sometimes you come back without a car coz you will be told they fully booked. We end up using our own vehicles. Laptops, cellphones etc. So poor working conditions, lack of resources and low salaries are some of the things that are killing our profession. #changeIsNeeded |
